OMG! that is soooo sad! what happend ?!?! is that real?? i wanna save it ! lol
Of course it's real... Muffins fell asleep in a file cabinet and never woke up.
AWWW poor thingy
Of course it's real... Muffins fell asleep in a file cabinet and never woke up.
Hahaha That's funny Muffins fell asleep Priceless
it is real cause me and my friends found the skeleton a couple of weeks ago we were thinking of burying it but we didnt have gloves to pick it up
So this is the offical dead files drawer?
Ugh. I remember seeing it when it still had fur.....
pretty disgusting act to look a helpless animal up in a cabinet just to have it die from starvation. people are swine
finally a picture to give me nightmares............could handle the rest but this is so sad to think a poor defenseless kitten/cat got stuck in there to die
ugh..that would freak me out
I bet they skinned it for fur... just kidding, its cute, for a skeleton that is =)
I saw the cat when it still had fury also, but it also had shit by its but because thats what happens when things die i believe. It was pretty creepy
Ohh that's really sad : ( I love cats, and animals in general.
Looks as though it was placed there on a bed. What is that pillow? Was the drawer closed, trapping the animal?
if i knew the prick that did that, id lock em up in the morgue
Same. Especially since I recently lost my cat of 19 years (yes he was older than me) and my aunt just lost her cat of 17 years. And no, they were not locked in file cabinets! I can't imagine how someone could do something so cruel. It makes me cry.
I doubt somone intentionally "locked up the cat", I personally believe it is more likley the cat found its way in there after somone had opened the cabinet and then laid down and died from natural causes, plus its weired the bones are picked white, normally rotten corpses have that nasty dried rotted meat clinging to the bones, especially if they're not open to the air and other scavangers..I.E. insects... pretty neat I think
This was probably a stray looking for someplace warm to sleep in the winter. Possibly froze to death or died of old age. I doubt someone shut the cat up in there to die.
Muffins? I don't think I'll ever look at an edible muffin the same way again. THANKS Motts. But, wouldn't the skeleton be contorted if it was trapped in there on purpose. It would have tried like hell to get out. It's just lying there like it was a peaceful death....
Here kitty kitty. Opps bad muffin, no more drawers for you.
Twug I'm with you. Cats seem to *know* when they're going to die, and like to hide away somewhere enclosed and comfortable to do it. The old stray theory seems to be closest to the mark. if it had been locked in there it would be twisted and contorted, plus that paper would be shredded by the claws. If the drawer was left open, it looks very comfortable - exactly the sort of place a cat would curl up for a nap...
as student nurses we dissected cats and other animals
WAS IT FILED UNDER "C"? LOL
Ah, the delicacies of planet Melmac.
c... c... c.. ah, here we go, cat.
Kitty probably went to go sleep in there, and just died.
Cats and dogs know when they are about to die. It probabally found a nice place to die in peace. Happens more than you think.
wow theres somehting really wrong with the ppl there insane they shoulnt of closed this place haha
are we absolutely sure this is a cat? look at the length of the bones in the rear leg, they seem a bit long?
Interesting question. Here are some examples to compare:

I for one am glad you asked. I never thought about it before, even though I have had cats in the past (I have 4 salukis now, and due to their various bumps, scrapes, and injuries I have had to get more familiar with their bones than I would ever have imagined - $$$$$$$$).
lynne,
thanx for the links, i guess it is a cat. the bones seem long but cats can be quite large. may he or she rest in peace.
Almost resembles a monkey of some sorts.
sick basturds killed a innocent cat
weird!!!
wow....thats very...Sad...poor muffins lol
This Pic very creepy..I wounder what they put the cat in there for...hummmm
In one of the buildings we found pieces of a rabbit that had been laid out almost like it was sacraficed...my guess, someone put the cat in there, but it was probably a kid, after the buildings had closed...future serial killers...
are there any other pcitures of this ?
Poor kitty -- methinks it is Bill the Cat -- you know, the one who goes "Ack!"
AHHHH KITTY!!!!! I LOVE KITTYS!!!!
Oh what the hell!
I bought the contents of an old shed and when my wife and I cleaned it out we found a few cat skeletons. Nobody killed them, those cats just got stuck or found a place to take their last nap.
More than likely the cat was a stray who found its way into the building after it closed. It was probably old or sick, found itself a comfortable place, and waited for the inevitable. The discoloration around the bones is the volatile fatty acid stain left behind when a body decomposes. Insects, etc. probably picked the bones clean long ago...
YOU PEOPLE ARE TOO MUCH!!!! Whatever happened, let the poor thing rest in peace!
I agree with those who said animals can sense their own demise, therefore, they seek a secluded spot. Also, someone may have found the cat freshly dead and placed it in the filing cabinet to protect it from other animals. Just a thought. I do, however, hope nobody intentionally locked it up because that is cruel and what goes around, comes around. We should have respect for ALL living things.
That's a great photo. Was the green tint added later or is it from the lighting you used?

I'm making this my new computer background.
Thanks, nah the green was from the camera's "nightshot" mode.
the way i see it is that the theories of it just dying of natural causes is most likely true. if you look at the picture again, it would be nearly impossible to stuff a cat into the cabinet, considering theres a lot of stuff under it.
I highly doubt someone put it in there while it was alive. Also whitch droor is it in? If it is in the bottom then it probaly went there on its own, and if the top then someone probaly put it there.
yes, I agree with the whole "finding a comfortable place for its last nap" theory, but all I can say is that I agree this really isnt something to laugh about, quite melancholy really, and no matter how it died or what it was, may it rest in piece.
:O OMG! AHHHHHHHH!

The monkeys have struck again!

*runs off crying*
Felyne...you should watch out!
I think I'm fairly safe, my big fat ass wouldn't fit in a filing cabinet.

But thanks for the heads up *watches you all suspiciously*
Mommy, wheres fluffy?
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh poor kity! Are u sure thats a cat? Looks more like a dog
Again a cruel twist to the forshadowing of the buildings demise death comes to a building and death comes to a cat it just shows that all things are temporal no matter how hard we try to hang on to them just a random thought it is sad though.
MUFFFINSS?!?!! why did you run away on me like that..
Jurassic park all over again. When will people learn you cant mess with nature. Its not right.
it looks like there's more bones in the drawer underneath it, too. Can that be right?!
Poor thing.
You can see his original body shape in the "dust" surrounding the bones. :(
I really hope it died of natural causes.
Someone should carefully collect the bones and give the poor cat a proper burial.

Signed: An American Soldier stationed in Germany.
My cat passed away in his sleep on our couch he weighed 25 pounds He now sleeps on our shelf!
I'm quite sure that this cat passed away from natural causes. most likely someone found the cat in the drawer and shut it when the found the dead cat sort'a like a casket.
I was in there not even two days ago, and I saw this. There's nothing left but maybe a back bone? I'm not sure exactly which part of the cat it was...
The room smells like something dead.
Nobody did harm to the cat. When cats are going to die, they usually go for quiet areas to die. All too often I find dead cats in such areas.
Aww poor pussy.. But yeah, I'm sure it would have died of natural causes. It definitely wouldn't have been shut in there by someone, cause if it was anything like our cats it would be literally impossible to do! XD
dude ..........thats fucked up if somebody actaully did kill that cat and then put his/her body in a fileing cabnitfor laughs :(
dude wat if it was spontaineuscombupstion
...you know that thing wear you burst into flames
This is the coolest thing I have ever seen.
nobody shut it in there. its nearly impossible to catch a stray cat... it probably starved to death =X
That is an amazing photo. Like a tiny dinosaur in a file-cabinet.
thats so wierdddd
ew
BTW THATS NOT DUST AROUND THE CAT BONES ITS FUR
i dont think anyone killed it alot of cats dogs birts bats and such get into this building and sometimes end up dieing i believe thoughs bones are still there but i woudlent be suprized if some sick fuck kill it
Hey! What the....WOW!
Holy Smokes!
Did you see tha....!
I mean ,what the....
If...
Can this this is,
I mean,That's.....
What?
this is late, but i agree with the whole "animals know when they're about to die" when my dog of about 14 died of heart failure, he went to his favorite spot under the porch and laid down.
Take a closer look at the cabinet drawers- the cat 's remains are actually lying in a seperate, smaller drawer that has been removed from another cabinet, and placed within the larger drawer. The smaller drawer (coloured grey) is too tall to allow the larger drawer (black) to be shut- it's jamming it open. Thus it'd be physically impossible for the cat to have been shut in.
I agree that it probably died naturally- also that it should be left to rest in peace.
Judging from the decomposition(I don't really know the location, but it seems like a fairly closed-off room) it was probably dead for at least 10-15 years. This probably means it was dead prior to the closing of the hospital...which is fairly sick.
I also see bones in the drawer underneath the cat drawer. My first thought was maybe they used it for science or something (because it is so neat, like someone layed it there) but if it has fur around it still,my thought was wrong. lol
I hope it was a natural death. The thought of someone harming a cat is sickening.
It is sad sd I have a cat.
When I was a kid our outdoor cats always went off somewhere to die -- the barn, a shed, under a porch -- and we found them later. (Traumatic, for a kid.) The only indoor cat I've ever had, now that I'm grown up and live in a condo, died curled up on his favorite chair. I came home from work and thought he was asleep until I went over to pet him and found that he was in fact permanently asleep. (Still traumatic for an adult.)
i liked all the pictures except this one. *shudder*
In many cases the Mentally ill were put into "tubs " of ice....as a calming process when they became aggitated.....I would submit that is probably what your "strange room" was.....I would also submit if some one was gonna force my fat one into a vat of ice cubes while tied in a rubber sheet.....it would take several of them to GET IT DONE>....in other words it was accepted at the time as theraputic....when in reality it was punitive.....
I would submit that this is the skeletal remains of a cat which wasn’t considered therapeutic.
oh how sad... havent you found similar cases of this in other places? i swear i have seen a pic with a dead cat on here somewhere
In pace requiescat.
People who were mentally ill were not placed in tubs of ice to calm them down. Anyone who is in ice water for more than a very short period of time generally dies. The water in the tubs was kept at room temperature which feels cold if you are in it, and if the water was too hot I can see where someone might have dumped a tray of ice cubes in to get it to the correct range. But it's just not possible to put people in tubs of ice without killing them. It's a great romantic story if you are interesting in bad fiction, but it's just not true.

By the way, what does a dead cat in a drawer have to do with hydrotherapy or even tubs of ice?
what's with this theme of dead cats?
Hmm, so thats where i left him...
Judging by the size of the teeth (check the canines) in relation to the skull, I'm going to wager a guess and say that's not a cat but a small dog or something.
If someone actually locked that poor cat up in that drawer I am totally down with the idea of locking them in the morgue. Tied up and gagged so they couldn't make a ruckus.
Very sad. When my Scottish Terrier, Hamish, passed on, he chose underneath the computer table, which was one of his favorite spots. Maybe the drawer was once this cat's favorite place. I've looked at this picture many times, and spent some time wondering about the cat; was it feral, was it a stray, was it abandoned?

RIP little guy.
OMG I almost cried seeing it.
Omg!! Thats Bad That Its Harsh R.I.P xx
Yeah...I'm going with the 'cat died peacefully in its sleep' theory.

If I don't, I may have to track the b*stards down who did this and excecute a slow and painful death. Which is not good for my pacifistic morals.
very sad, very wrong, and very, very disturbing
Usually not too fond of pictures like these, but the skeleton looks so.. peaceful. As if "Muffins" knew he was going to pass away, and found a silent place to be alone to do so.
that thing is really scary
...thaaats depressing.
Reminds me of the song Phoebe from friends sings in one episode; Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat....you smell like something death
That's a skeleton...SCARY!!!!
Hi jf,RN they dissected cats in my school, too. I wouldn't do it, though. I'm allergic to cats.
oh here you are, Cookie!
Do you know outside the building where the thousands of empty cat food cans & all the flies are?

Well, around the right side of the patio (where there is sometimes a cat bed or cardboard box), there is a crawl space.
My friend & I were trying to find new ways in & checked in there with lights, when I was struck by a horrible smell...
I looked down & there was a cushion & a stiff, furry animal of some sort.
It didn't really look like a cat, but I couldn't tell.
It's nose looked long, as if it were a possum.
I do remember seeing a cat (a very mean one) around there on at least 2 different occasions.
Hopefully that wasn't it!

Maybe these bones are the remains of one of the cats that used to be fed outside the building?
That actually might be a dog... judging by the teeth..... from what i can see.
i take that back. its a cat and its missing a few teeth. the p4 is def. a cats p4, not a dogs. its a big ass cat though.
where exactly is this? im a photographer and im going to be going to kppc soon and ive been hearing about a lot of different buildings and rooms with great stuff to shoot. if anyone knows anything about this or any other rooms, feel free to email me. it'd be appreciated. thanks!

My 1st cat's name was Muffin...smh...
*grabs my cat and hugs her* that`s not gonna happen to you kitty...... *cries* poor kitty! D'X TT^TT
For as creepy and kind of gross this is, it is a very cool shot.
Found this poor thing today... only its rib cage, pelvis, and part of its femur and spine are left. Someone took the skull.
poor baby.. I pray he is in the Lap of God..at peace..
