One of the few pieces of equipment left is this enormous x-ray machine.

Believe it or not that x-ray machine still moves in all directions like it was brand new I couldn't belive it till i tried it.
I know Exactly where this is! (Now that's scary!) My Aunt worked in the X-Ray Dept. for over 20 yrs. in Bldg 25...
being caught by security would definitely suck. but the consequences couldnt be all that bad, maybe a minor fine at most. Which brings me to my next point; i wonder if he ever been caught
My local goverment clinic has one just like that still working today.
Actually, There really isn't security there. It's really easy to get into also, it's surrounded by huge amounts of wooded areas. There's a government building called AIL that closed a couple of years, it's not too far from Pilgrim, but if you go all the way in the back near this huge wooden tower, you can follow those woods to the doctors old houses. It's a beautiful area.
Unless things have changed recently, Office of Mental Health police do patrol the grounds (as it is still an active state psychiatric hospital), and the scrapper guys who keep an eye on the abandoned buildings do take matters to the police.
Oh yes, OMH Police do patrol all the closed State Hospitals quite frequently. And they do call the local Suffolk Police.
Ooh, scary police presence secretary. I think I'm going to bust into the old place and have my way. We all know you own it, give everyone a break on the threats. The vandals and the interlopers are going to find way of busting in and your ominious attitude would just give me impetus to break in just to bust your balls.
I was just there. I did almost get cought. Ironically the only escape from the police was goin into the building for some reason they dont follow us in. They rather play flashlight games threw the windows. Has anyone seen the dead cat? or the bats?
Recently we had a patient from NEFSH transfer to Pilgrim Hospital. Looking at these photos really make me want to visist it. I love looking at things of the past.
Yo i got atving in this place all the time at night with my friends and they have state police there now that patrol the area on atvs as well they ride raptors all green and they actually opened fire on my friends tires. and they got him im not joking about that. PLace scares the shit out of me at night but great riding terrain dont get caught.
got caught walking around the grounds last week. the security guard gave me a lot of shit. said he could confiscate my camera and that it is against the law to take pictures on any state hospital grounds.

he wrote down my license plate number.

i went back three days later and took more pics.
we wanna go
Ihope that they removed the PCB filled transformer fore that machine
I think about that often too Dave> Motts says he uses appropriate masks for aesbestos etc. but I think about all the other ppl. who talk about breaking into these places like it was nothing. There are so many dangers, not to mention it is often private property. I'm not preaching; do what you will - it's just something to think about.
My great grandmother suffered a breakdown at the hands of her abusive husband, and was given a labotomy . She was housed at Pilgrim State Hosp. for 62 years. she died in 1990 @ the age of 82. i would love to visit.
yeah dont go there on halloween, btw they get smartass and oh no, double patrols, secreatary your intelligence is soooo highi know
oh yeah same with KP they do it on halloween too, there are the secret tunnels, which they are planninng on sealing up,:(! so go there before they do , its kool,go to home depot or sometthing and get one of those 9/11 masks cuz there is still some of that lead paint and asbestos, just some advice
Lead paint is going to hurt you unless you eat it.

Asbestos isn't going to hurt you unless you're tearing through walls or creating a lot of dust that you breathe in.
IS IT SAFE TO GO IN? I WAS THERE YESTERDAY AND THERE ARE OPENINGS TO GET IN EVERYEHERE.....
