Very striking shot.. The autumn colors through the window remind me of waking from a nightmare..

beautiful shot. the colors of life outside contrasted with the blackness of the soul inside... like looking out of the eyes of the dead..
God, Mr. Motts -- you are a total, total genius.
Well put Shayla.
Hey, OMG I was just web surfing and I came to this site that had this same exact picture on it but outside it was made to look stormy. Did you know about it Motts? (www.gothicstyle.co.uk/gothic_wallpaper.php)
By God, she's right! I pulled both pix and put them in my Photo Shop program, and they are the same pic.

Good eye, Chey!
Thank you Lynne
No, I didn't know about this... it's a shame that people will just download something you created, edit it and slap thier logo on top without a second thought.
I have sent an email informing them of how appalled I am at this revolting exploit.
good job ~me, being an supporter of Motts and his artwork, im emailing those idiots now.
i was just on that site and the took down the picture
Yay Chey! Good on ya! :-)

**Close Lynne, real close**
We are looking out through the eyes of a former patient. The tormented mind, blackened and broken inside, the heavy lashes, the bleary wistfulness of 'out there'.
Yeah, they did take it down. Good job ~Me and Awyper.
wonderfully done
im so upset about this whole Danvers thing they tore it down
Wow...just...wow...This picture... is amazing!.. it seems so familiar to me for some reason.. like I've seen it before somewhere, very strange.. very beautiful..
There's such a contrast, the color from outside, and the bleakness of the indoors.
The magnificent saddness of it all. It a take on being on the inside looking at the outside. The ying and the yan. Such a emotional photo from a master.
See? Someone DID fall out, durn burn it! All that paperwork!!
This picture sent a chill down my spine...It is beautiful but at the same time horrifying and sad.
Thats a really pretty view
that is one scary shot.....but i love it anyway<3
Thank you for the pics fantastic pics of Danvers State Hospital......I still live here in the danvers area and I use to live down the street from Danvers State. I have always been facinated by its history and I still am. Looking at these pics help to imagine what it was like....I hate to see them tear it down. Unfortunate as it is....it is historic.
Nice shot! It almost looks like the windows are a set of old eyes, looking out to the last remains of its tattered body.
mr. motts thank you for bringing me here .
This picture gives me chills.
I have just recently become obsessed with old, abandoned buildings and have visited quite a few sites and I gotta say, this site is incredible.
of course it is creepy many people died there
erin, many people have died everywhere , its not the dying, its the suffering , and what they did after they died,
As I look further and further upon your stunningly awe-struken work, it saddens me. It creates a light state of depression. This building, like the patients that once roamed it's halls, has been abondoned, forgotten in some way, not able to tell the stories that it's walls held. Now it stands lonely and sad. [If it still stands]
this place could have ghosts that are going to kill you with a heart attack
Na, no ghosts, no such thing, but the building itself is magnifacent. Looking at it and knowing that so many lives passed there that were troubled in so many ways, the suffering, the pain. The beautiful building only gave them shelter and warmth. 1/3 of it, with a new interior, will still give warmth and shelter to people, but in a much happier invironment. There is one thing for certain; It will never be as magnifacent and beautiful as it was when Motts took these photos. See how some uncaring person has broken the window and window frame. So sad.
Dora many ghost also have been sighted
tired eyes
