Fossils!
It really does say a lot in my own mind, It looked so familiar . Thats why the photo is so good, it typifies.
AND THATS WHY SCHOOLS FRIGHTEN ME, THEY LOOK JUST LIKE THAT.
OMG your right!
does that window have a window????
I'm guessing the radiators would be covered for the safety of the patients?

Awesome photo
Correct.
how in the world do you finds these places Motts? the closest I can find to hisroric places is the Donner party Trail, and thats just dirt. I would love to visit a place like this
my jr highschool looked just like this!
This picture looks just like my old highschool too. What is disturbing is that it seems that alot of American Highschools are just as derelict.
my high school had a few of these it was built in 1954 but none of them had the covers instead we had mold and a super-cold lunchroom which was originally outside and they cheaply threw a roof on it hell in the winter
wAaAaAoOoO!! great
Wouldn't that be even more dangerous? I mean, if the heat was warming up the metal, if the paients touched the metal, wouldn't it burn them?
Interestingly enough, this comment was recently posted: http://www.opacity.us/...s.htm#comment_107028
I would assume the metal is safer then leaveing the vents in harms way.
I remember this place. I visited my uncle here in probably 1963? I was maybe 10. I still remember the colors of the walls.
Yeah, kind of defeats the purpose, I mean it would seem these metal coverings would get just as hot and burn the crap out the patients.
