Theater

Theater

This large hall also doubled as a gymnasium, but it didn't skimp out on the theater goodies at all.

Looks like this room is in great shape. Almost looks like it could still be used.
Amazing that its in this shape! nice surprize to see its not trashed.
Of all the theatre/stage shots I've seen so far, this is the only one I'd feel comfortable performing on without being spooked!

Actually, backstage areas of theatres really give me the creeps *am amateur actress, do lots of musical theatre*
I used to work at a movie theater that had been converted from a Vaudeville theater....before we carefulyy constructed a new theater out of what used to be the backstage area we all got a tour....it was incredible to feel the energy of all the people that once performed there. I didn't want to go into the dressing rooms underneath the stage....I'd been told there was a sizeable jumping spider population down there....EIW!!! YICK!!!!
agree the theatre does seem to be in great shape.suprising considering all the other theatre shots ive seen
The screens above the doors on either side of the stage make me think that there may once have been a Theater Organ (such as a Wurlitzer) installed. Of course, if there ever was such a thing, I'm sure it's long since removed or trashed.
I agree with BritChick, this room also feels comfortable to the eye.
nice... :O)
looks like this place is in pretty good shape!! its nice to see it not too vandalized :-)
reminds me of my elementary school auditorium. Same colors and everything
An equisite room. The sun, the space, I feel I could leap and dance in this space and totally free myself. Enlightening.
That's incredible! Seriously if I didn't know better I would think that gym was still in use today. From the picture it looks like it is in perfect condition.
Beautiful picture! They're saving these buildings, right?
What a pleasent looking theater! I bet this was a nice surprise on your excursion.

Ladies and gentlemen please Welcome if you will. 4 lads from Liverpool THE BEATLES!!!!!!
Very nice! Very elaborate !
Looks like water had started getting from the roof. I bet the room has started to crumble by now.
So may of these places have abandoned theaters and it just seems to me like so much wasted potential. If one of these was around me I would do everything in my power to turn it into a concert venue. Thats what they do with most of the old theaters around me.
The theater looks like it's in between classes. So different from other places.
wow, a coat of paint, and this could be a hire hall
Wow this theatre is in good shape considering
omg this is beautiful
