Morgue Doors

Morgue Doors

The beautiful cooler doors... the space was very small, so it was impossible to capture the entirety without a very wide angle lens.

Very nice - I love the hardware!
try laying in these at night..............i have and there cold and dark very creepy
is that in the hospital basement ???
Thing- Most Morgues or other body storage facilities are in the basement of subbasement of buildings, to keep them away from the prying eyes of the living. As well as to shelter the living from seeing what could be a less than pleasant end to someone's mortality.
It's also convenient to have a loading dock outside and a place that doesn't require stairs to transport the body in and out of the building, hence a basement or ground floor.
where is it ???
You gotta be really fuckin sick to actually lye down on those.... AT NIGHT nonetheless!
its in the main building off the main road up to the right.......their down in the basement.......watever u do dont go there alone.......its not fun.....and make sure u can run because the cops favor this place
From all the morgue you've visited, have you ever found anything interesting at all?
where is this morgue...i found the silver one but i cant find this one ...what building it in and where???
Thing - Um ... Mr. Motts does not reveal information about the places he visits other than through his photos.
It almost looks like a very big, very old "icebox" built into the wall with the doors closed like that.
"Icebox" -- I thought I was the last person on earth to know what an icebox was.
Motts i might know you. If your last anme is mott i think i do.
Janice, not quite the last :-) My father is 72, and in addition, was raised by his grandmother (who was born in 1878), so he passed down some antiquated sayings for objects, etc...(called the microwave the "radar range", told us not to run around in "stocking feet.", things like that.)
We also had an old"icebox" from the early 1900's when I was a child. (My Dad loved to collect antiques)
Actually, I think Icebox is still a New Yawkism -- I'm not quite 72, but gittin' there! UPPER CAPS watch your email!
Janice, coincidently enough, my Dad is from upstate New York (Auburn)
Well, good evening, Scarlett -- Gone With The Wind is on TV as we speak!!

I do love these doors -- they look like solid oak.
i was there last night. it was quite a exsperiance. We found something interesting however. There are no "No Trespassing" signs anywhere at all.
how did you close those doors!?

we tried to push the bed/tray things back in and it was so rusted and impossible to move.
Gorgeous Hardware
Lets have a look inside!
Here's an update. I was there a few hours ago tonight and all four of those doors are now gone. They were taken right off, there's bolts on the floor. still layed inside though, second time.
Anybody hear anything about some weird experiments the doctors performed on the patients?
Only me, prolly.
yeah, my mother used to work there. the experiments that they would do were called "labodmies" [hope i spelled that right]. the doctors would cut off the top of the head and take out certian parts of the brain to see if cured the person, if not just to see what happened. the patients were often starved and beaten as well. my mother worked in "x" building and she told me they would keep the patients in cages.
Em, well, actually . . . . . .
OMG!
Lynn how could you, nevermind, I'm jsut as speechless!
Dang, I just HATE it when we are busted like this.
my freinds said when they visited this place they were "glued" to the floor and claimed there are a lot of spirits in this place...does any one have any stories like this?
you guys should go to the 2nd floor and read the documents there, its so cool i took some it was like a day to day journal of of they they took care of them.
R.I.P doors...I didn't get there in time to see the doors actually attached. Not only have they come off, but they're completely gone. They seem to have been stolen :(
yo does anybody know how to get to the morgue from the area cuz me and my friends explored the whole thing almost and still can't find it, e-mail me if u can help sducky22@gmail.com
I was there on march 16 2008 there is an unsettling feeling there and an orb was seen by myself and someone else
I as well went down to the morgue and felt that 'unsettling feeling.' I was just overwhelmed and almost felt panicked, and my head just kept telling me to get out of there. At the same time it was very emotional to think that people had been dissected on lab tables down there. I strongly believe that some leftover energy or souls remain. So much sadness and ill-treatment went on at Letchworth, so I wouldnt't doubt it for a moment
i worked there for 20 years all your wrightings are bs
So wait. where are morgues in a hospital in what part? sub-basements? or is there any place else?
The morgue is in the basement, though its really not much to look at anymore
I am not surprised to hear these doors were stolen...but it's sad.
