i have been there is is nuts
what building is the morgue at?
I was just there last nite, its awesome, it looks exactly like that still with the drawers open. My friends wanted me to lay on the tray like a corpse because i am small but i wouldnt do it.
I think this is the Mourge in Bacchus or the "Old Hospital" When my parents worked in Letchworth I was with them when they had to stop by there one time on a day off. Though my mother worked in the "New Hospital", she had to see some friends in the "Old" one. This mourge was no longer used as such, and had become a break room. It was very creepy to a 15 year old to eat food there. One of my less thrilling adolescent memories. I was with a friend also 15 as well. We got a case of nervous laughter. My 'rents thought we where just being silly. They didnt realize we were so creaped out.
You're right, that morgue is in the old hospital building.
the hospital next to willwo grove its in that one ? ive been their but we did not search te basement ....is it in the basement there ???
One of my best friends is a mortuary science major. She would find this to be absolute love.
i was there.........you should see the pictures from that place that i got
These looke to be really old because of the frame and frount of the doors....but ya this pic...i love all your pics!
Me and my friends went out there last nite at midnight in the cold and it was so much fun. We knew where the morgue was but had a little trouble finding it. When we did i lay on the bottom right slab and we took pictures. Had load of fun.
Ive layed in there before. its so cold and scary. try being stoned and drunk sitting on a USED morgue table. damn
that place is deffently scary i wanna g there
hey vinny!!
i wanna go there too
=]
yes, the mourge is in the basement.

and also, to Motts, you captured the feeling so amazingly. i have been there the past 2 nights and earlier today i stubled across your pictures and it makes me feel i am there again.
ps. i meant to say stumbled.

everything i said means "i really really like your pictures"
Great Pictures

MYSTERY - NEED SOME HELP

HI...

I have a question for "Richard". My uncle, whom my cousins and I know very little about, and who's life has pretty much been kept a secret by our Aunts, was at this hospital. Richard, you mentioned that your mother worked there. Would she know how I could find records of my uncle? His name was William Francis Morris, Jr. We don't know when he died, but he would have probably have been older when your mother was there. I believe he entered Lechtworth back in the 1930s. I believe he probably died there too, but I'm not sure.
GWEN - Send me an email when you can. I have access to a ton of records on former residents, as well as being in communication with them. Don't know if I can help, but could definitely try.
This website is incredible...the photos are stunning.
i was jst there a little wile ago around 8:00pm playing paintball we kept hearing things
i was there this summer it looked lke there was blood on the trays and the room directly across from it the bathroom gave me the chills then my friends n i saw something walking towards us down the far end of the hall and if anyone has gone into the room that is at the end of the arrow with the 3 please tell me wut was in there cuz something ran up to the door and that room was chained up
Its a shame that this building is going to be bulldozed to make way for 400 house Senior Citizen Complex called Encore Palisades. I hope someone salvages these wooden doors or atleast the hardware..there absolutely gorgeous. Rest in Peace Letchworth..lol Only one good thing about this is that they plan to restore Stewart Hall for their recreation house.
Hey Matt... Was there today. The doors are gone!!! Has anyone heard about the story of "Mikey" and the cemetary? Saw the cemetary, and it was dfinitely spooky.
My friends and I went there today trying to find the morgue, but we didn't get very far. We were in their with our flashlights and everything and we heard a huge "BANG!" like a door slam, so we bolted out of there, it was so scary. But, we're going back.
were is the cemetary i cant find it
Here's a clue - it's NOT inside the building. The rest is up to you.
Dangit!! Now i have to start all over again.
THE CEMETARY IS ON CALL HOLLOW ROAD.
yo as of 12/6 that place is hot there was a fire there the other nite and cops were all over the place...
spucci...

You think you can tell me the story of "Mikey"? My mom and dad used to hang out at that grave back in the 80s, and all my dad would tell me was that it was creepy as f***.
luminescentxx@aol.com
I use to work there years ago, back in the 80's. There are underground tunnels that link alot of the buildings. I went and visited when I was home last. Its Creepy. Good place for a horror movie.
were are the entrances to those tunnels
there r n0 m0re d0ors 0n the m0rgue the place is c0mpletely trashed n0w its ridicul0us h0w pe0ple can destr0y this place its hist0ry n i think its amazing
Letchworth has become my new other 'life.' When im not occupied by the bazillion things i have to do, I'm off in space thinking about it. i go whenever i have the chance and I'd love to go with some more die-hard Letch fans. i can say I've been in many of the buildings and kno my way around pretty well, but I know I've still got a lot to learn about it. I welcome any new info, stories, ANYTHING about it absoultely fascinates me! .anyone drop me a line if u ever wanna explore in a group or to just talk about this new passion of mine..Letchworth of course ;)
ive seen the tunnels - was told not to go in them - but who listens to that ??
i work for the town of haverstraw and have been into everybuilding up there and the tunnels. the tunnels you can enter in the power house or some buildings including marked manholes or a doubleblast door located across from loadingdock in rear of powerhouse in woods.in the past i have entered the tunnels in woods in haverstraw and exited in stonypoint if anyone does explore bring more than one light and take note of your course because the tunnels branch off and there are many them!
Whats up with the cats? There are hundreds and theres new cans of cat food outside an open window of an abandoned bulding. Homeless guy or what?
And is there an old pool or something behind one of the buildings? Its quite overgrown, but it appeared to be a big blue hole.
Beautiful doors, absolutely gorgeous. A pity they were taken, since it was probably done by a private collector (or a total jerk) and I doubt they'll be seen again.
I saw that, it was insane. The autopsy room is right next door....
I worked here from 82-85. I always thought the grounds were really pretty and the old buildings were pretty cool to wander through though they weren't nearly as creepy when they were loaded down with residents. I had thought this place was gone, but it sounds like it still around at least in part, so I'll have to plan a visit back that way before it's all bulldozed.
Does anyone know the story of Mikey? Cuz I really want to find out for research I'm doing (I'm a paranormal investigator) I was over in Letchworth and it's definitely "alive" with activity. That and does anyone have any idea of what buildings are which (I can't remember the layout of the grounds)
We just drove past here the other day, and my friend told me about it. I'd love to go in there and check it out, but looking online, it looks like the grounds span over miles of neighborhoods and golf courses and the like. Anybody have some kind of map or can point me in the right direction as to where to park and what buildings to check out (without getting arrested/shot at, of course)? Some friends of mine want to go. If anybody has been there before and would be able to give some insight or advice it'd be greatly appreciated!
mnadzan@gmail.com
That is very fluffin scary!!!!
Concerning the cans of cat food... I was there with a friend and we watched a lady drive up to one of the dorms and opened up many cans of cat food and a whole bag of dry food for the family of cats that live there
can you get hear legally, what is the story on mikey and the tunnels
me n 3 of my friends slept in that room for a full night and nothin happened if u wanna c something scary go to the hospital in the willow grove parking lot that one is scary
iv laid in this mourge too it smells like shit
You can't help but appreciate the work that went into those heavy wood doors!
THE LECHWORTH VILLAGE "POTTERS CEMETARY" IS ON CALL HOLLOW ROAD BUT ENTRANCE IS BY PEMISSION ONLY (FOR FAMILY MEMBERS) AND UNFORTUNATELY A LOT OF THE BUILDINGS HAVE NO TRESPASSING SIGNS ALL OVER THE PLACE!! AND BE WARNED EVERY TIME I DRIVE THRU (WHICH IS ALMOST EVERY SINGLE DAY AS LIVE DOWN THE ROAD) THERE IS AT LEAST ONE COP CAR PARKED WITHIN ONE OF THE EMPTY PARKING LOTS!! BUT THAT BEING SAID, IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA AND ARMED WITH A CAMERA IT IS WORTH A LOOK!! AND AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT LOOK LIKE YOU ARE UP TO NO GOOD THEY SHOULD NOT BOTHER YOU!!
LAST NIGHT MY FAMILY WENT TO A LECHWORTH VILLAGE BUILDING AND WE WERE LOOKING AT THIS ONE WINDOW THAT WAS PITCH BLACK AND THE WINDOW NEXT TO IT HAD THESE OLD DRAPES AND THEY WERE OPEN AND WHEN I WAS LOOKING AT THEM THEY CLOSED AND THEN IT KEPT ON OPENING A LITTLE THEN CLOSING AND MY BROTHER COULD NOT SEE IT SO WHEN WE WERE YELLING AT MY BROTHER WHERE THE WINDOW WAS WE WERE NOT PAYING ATTENTION AND IT OPENED VERY QUICKLY AND WE ZOOMED OFF. IT WAS VERY CREEPY!!!
Does anybody know of a way to get into the hospital building? I've been there probably well over a hundred times, and not once have i gotten into the morgue. Somehow cops stopped us and told us to get lost every time. We're probably going to take a trip over there sometime this weekend so it would be really helpful if somebody could help me out by then :]

carabergz@aol.com
went there today for the third time. i finally found the morgue.. me and my friends had been looking for it the past two times but we couldn't find it. somebody put a baby doll head in the top right one.. creepy!!
there are actually two mourges there is one in the irst hospital acrosse the street rom the cinigauge and there is one in the hosiptal by williow grove it looks noting like this picture anymore this place is fucked up now
Hey Letchworth Fans, I was there last sunday and it was extremly beautiful.
I am a photographer myself and I had a lot of fun, after exploring the buildings I came home and i started researching about it.
I think I became a Letchworth Fan, every little detail about this place fascinates me.

I really would like to go there again with other people.
I would really apreciate if someone can send me a Map with all the houses and where the morgue is and the power house and the tunnels, because I missed a lot and I dont know where I can find this places.

If someone wants to show me around or anything this fall on a weekend. It would be highly recomendet.

Mail: ionescu_emilia1987@yahoo.de (every kind of information about Letchworth village or other Abandoned places around Hudson Valley area too)
Is anyone going? I would love to I know it's now November, isn't Letchworth off limits or can people still go on the grounds and into some buildings? Thanks
i just came back from there. i went with 2 friends of mine. it was dark which made the place pretty creepy, but it wasnt that bad. it was interesting to see old patient files. but the morgue still sent shivers up my spine
To all those asking where the morgue is. As you enter off of Letchworth Village Road, go through the parking lot and branch left as you pass the now burnt Stewart Hall building you will pass three housing units on your left and then the next building on the left is the morgue. If you look on google maps it is shaped like the pi symbol from above. It should be up a little driveway. Its across the street from a pond. I have never been inside, too freaked out by these pics lol.
can someone please tell me how to get to the hospital my friends and i cant find it?
Anyone know the address to this place!?
This is one of the few buildings friends and I did not get a chance to visit. We were told the building that burnt down the night before we went was the morgue, but we were also told it was up more a ways, either way I really want to visit/and terrified to!
I've been to letchworth 3 times now and I believe I found the morgue but I wasn't quite sure. I'm just wondering if one of the morgues is in the huge building in the very back of letchworth. I went towards that basement and there was water all over the floor and I was wearing flipflops so I didn't want to go in. So guy's are one of the morgues in the back huge building?
Hey guys. I was just at letchworth about 2 weeks ago, it looks nothing like the pictures, everythings turned to shit. My friend did although lay on one of the trays in the morgue and we took pictures, but it still didn't look anywhere near as well put together as it does in the picture. Everything's in terrible condition now, and it wasn't that scary at all.
I saw that on ghost adventures

Question: What is the first letter of the word "abandoned?"
