Very nice. the clouds and the seemingly gray sky make the shot.
Motts, were you able to go inside?
No, most crypts are well sealed.
I JUST LOVE YOUR SITE VERY NICE I'M FACINATED WITH OLD CRYPTS HOW OLD IS IT
I have been inside and downstairs...it is a family crypt for the Haight family....
UMMMM....not to be indelicate, but what are they going to do with the mausoleum when the rest of the place is demolished? Surely, they will allow it to stand and not disturb the rest and peace of the Haight family member(s) inside!
Don't look small to me....I think its about as big as my house!
alegedly, the VFW post next door (an old staff house from the estate) is responsible to maintain the mausoleum.
Well, let's see; are they going to do away with this, too? Or will they let them rest in peace?
You take beutiful pictures and I love the content! You are extremely fortunate to have gotten to go inside this mansion. I'm a cemetery fan as well so I really enjoyed this one. Thanks!
It's not part of the Salesian property
That property would have made a great library. Shame it wasn't taken care of properly.
It's true. The VFW next door act as the caretakers. It's about 70 yards off to the right of the mausoleum. I grew up in the town and passed the mausoleum, VFW, mansion and Salesian school everyday going to school. Truly a beautiful place. They are opening the land up as a park soon.
Wow!
VFW is no longer there. The Goshen Masonic Lodge is now in that building. Restored to its greatness. I am sure they will maintain the Mausoleum in respect for the Haight Family.
