I went to high school at this school from 1965 to 1969. It's really a shock to see what happened to this place.
I have a piece of the stain glass of the Salesan Crest that was positioned above the main door..

geraldmarcial@aol.com
I also have some of it as well. It was littered in front of the door.
i went to this school from 1943 thru 1947. i cant reach any one who was there. i would gladly pay a good price for any yearbooks for those years. if you can help call collect at6109292510 or 6102231295. thank you
this had 4 to 8 grade at that time
Like Paul Z. and Jerry M., I was also a seminarian in Goshen ('64 - '68)..the Mansion on the property has already been torn down , and part of me wants the owners to go ahead and tear down the school too. It is too sad to see it in such awful shape.
I graduated fron Goshen in '67. I have made two (@ least) pilgimages up there since. I was glad to see that the cemetery was still being kept up. A special sadness re-visited me when I saw the graves of German Martinez (my classmate) and Fr. Earl ( my mentor)...May they rest in peace...
Did any of you distinguished grads, know of a Paul Ramos Jr. The little boy who fell off the roof in 1963?
amazingly, no. I arrived at Goshen in September of 1964, just weeks after his death, yet didn't learn about the incident till 2003 or so! It chills me to think of the thousands of times I walked over the spot he died without knowing.
I say we somehow get George Carlin to comment here.
I live in Goshen myslef, and the story of Paul Ramos is pretty well known now, most people have their facts straight. Our local schoolpaper had an article about it published sometime last year.
I'm sad to see the mansion torn down, and it is awfully sad to see the school in such disrepair. I hear they are going to keep it up though and move our library/hisorical center into it once it's fixed up
Post Mortum Paranormal Director seeking information regarding the tragic death of Paul Ramos Jr..in 1964 any information please contact me at www.bones1889@yahoo.com .Help us unmask this coverup.

Searching for spirits at school
By John Sullivan
Times Herald-Record
jsullivan@th-record.com

Goshen - It's Friday night at Moon Doze Cafe, where Lloyd Rajcoomar and three of his investigators are sitting at a circular table, drawing customer attention away from Molly Hamilton and the karaoke equipment she and a lanky, bearded man have just finished setting up.
"Hey, whattya guys want to sing, "Ghostbusters?" '' says Hamilton, while strutting past the men.
Rajcoomar and the others smile politely, then turn to business.
Rajcoomar pulls out a clear blue plastic folder containing news stories, photographs and several business cards that say "Paranormal Investigation."
He hands over one of the articles headlined "Deadly fall still unsolved in police eyes."
It's dated Aug. 25, 2003.
"It's been 39 years since someone found little Paul Ramos Jr. facedown on the pavement behind the school dormitory. Even so, questions linger about what happened that summer night so long ago."
Rajcoomar knows the story by heart: A 9-year-old boy attending a summer camp in 1964 at the Salesian School in Goshen climbs to the roof at night and mysteriously falls off. Village police suspect foul play, but have run out of leads, especially since a fire six years after the death destroyed records of all those at the camp that summer.
This is what brings Rajcoomar and his investigation team to Goshen. The spirit of the 9-year-old might still be in the school, he says.
And it might need their help.
"It seemed troubled," Rajcoomar says of the purported spirit he spoke with two weeks ago. "It wanted to communicate, but it was very weak."
Goshen just isn't Goshen without a ghost story about the Salesian, a two-century-old, once-450-acre property that belonged to wealthy aristocrats, charities, and an order of Catholic priests.
Stories have circulated for years about the abandoned school building, once part of the Catholic boarding school, prompting mostly teens to trespass on the site late at night.
The thrill seekers multiplied this past summer, after contractors hired in the spring to tear down the mansion, once the residence of the Catholic students, reported glass crashing down from glassless windows.
Reading about the mysterious noises in an article in the Times Herald-Record, Rajcoomar, a 26-year-old security specialist for Wal-Mart, and his troupe of nine paranormal detectives, known as Post Mortum, decided it was time to investigate. The group, formed this past spring, has held numerous interviews with the media, including an article about them in this newspaper.
Only four detectives could make it out this night to tape their findings in front of the Salesian gates for a Time Warner Cable show to be broadcast on Channel 23 at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow.
The four - Rajcoomar, Jarrod Soles, 22, Avelino Jacinto, 37, and Angel Parilla, 67, - are dressed in jeans and black T-shirts and baseball caps, their names and the Post Mortum logo printed in white. Around their necks, they wear crucifixes and medallions of Christian saints.
Their preliminary readings from the Salesian School include video footage of flying orbs, thermal measurements of cold pockets in the basement air, pictures of a pentagram drawn on the floor of a room, and audio recordings of subnormal sounds. In other words, ghosts, according to Rajcoomar.
"This is him?" asks Dawn Santoro, the owner of Moon Doze Cafe, which is holding karaoke night on this Friday evening."That's hair," Rajcoomar tells Santoro, pointing out the contours of a bright image caught on thermal video camera.
"Are you sure?" Santoro asks, then says, wide-eyed, "I think this is so cool."
If the ghost of the boy is in the Salesian School, it is not alone, Rajcoomar adds. When Rajcoomar asked the spirit if it was afraid, another voice responded, "Hell no, damn you!" he says.
"There are lots of entities in there," Rajcoomar says. "One of them is negative, likely from the pentagram somebody drew on the floor."
Rajcoomar says he has informed police of his group's involvement in the case, but they have not yet responded back. A search for Ramo's family has also turned up empty, so far.
"We won't say it's (Paul Ramos), but we definitely spoke to a boy," he says. "We're holding off our judgment until we can speak to his parents."

.....................
Wow, the intricate detail in the stonework is simply beautiful.
I went to sleep-away camp from the summer of 1962 (?) until the summer of 1970. I have faint memories of the boy that died. i do have great memories of wonderful times during those 7 weeks each summer!
This building looks as though it is mocking the onlooker.
I was there when Paul died. His cot was across from mine, although I did not know him well, having been there only a week or so. The events surrounding hiis death were indeed massively and deliberately covered up. I have no idea what actually happened, but I have never believed the "sleepwalked off the roof" tale that force-fed to us at the time. I do wonder if one of the holy brothers sexually molested Paul the way they did me. I'm glad that someone has fond memories of the place; mine are less than pleasant.
That's horrible. How hard was it to get up on the roof of this place anyways?
I have lived in Goshen all my life, and now, 18, I can say that the Salesian school means more to me than any other part of town. I have been inside, and all i have is respect for the old building, and I hope they never tear it down. i'd much rather see a community effort to fixing it up, and making it the new Libraby or something else.
Ken, please contact me ASAP regarding one of your post here. You may have some info I am looking for. Please responsd to

This place is very interesting. Id like to learn more about it. I know a priest at Don Bosco who might know about this place
as children we pay for our fathers sins
how much pain can 1 cause?
with out conscience watch your children fall.
what is the price what is the price.
look in the mirror you fine fine man.

may hell await you
this is a tragic story that someone must know the truth to. Paul Ramos Jr. must rest peacefully
I wrote an article a few years back about Paul's death. I spoke to the Goshen Village police about it and they re-opened the case after the stories of molestation came out. I've seen the crime photos and visited the school. The trajectory of his fall does not match with an accident. It's more likely he was pushed or thrown off the roof due to his position and distance from the building. The roof itself would be difficult for the boy to climb alone. Also, the time frame from the ME was wrong. The whole case was never really investigated. And now...who knows? It's something I am still looking into from time to time. It doesn't sit well that it happened right there with a building full of people and no one knew a thing. The parents sued about the door to the roof being unlocked as well. It's crazy. Anyone who'd like to discuss it further in any aspect...elise.alexandria@gmail.com Probably bothers me the most since we share the same last name.
Zack, Terry, Gerry, Tim? 65-69 also. Wow! Where've you all been?
Hmm... maybe I should turn that around.
How'd it take me so long to find my way here?
The middle room over the main door was Father Adam Saluppo who was ran the library and steady confessor. He was a touch of reality whenever I needed it.
Lets not forget that Salesian was a summer day camp until the summer of 1991. I attended from 1987 to 1991 and remember the building well
I just want to say that I attended residential camp there in 1970-1972 and have nothing but fond memories of the place. I thought it was terrific, and so did most of those I went with.
Anyone have any info about the old Salesians in Cedar Lake Indiana? It sounds like the same senario as this Goshen one.And nobody will talk about it.One big cover up.Its been abandoned since 1979.
Yes,they claimed to close down due to lack of admissions.I wouldnt pry into this anymore because the students who went there get very upset about it. I feel sorry for the victims though.
Such a shame they didn't preserve the salesian school. Went there as a child when it was still open and the church was just beautiful. Although I no longer live in Goshen, its sad to see it g.
