So sad that there's no one left to enjoy these beautiful things. It all seems so lonely and hopeless.
Beautiful colours!
hey Motts are those hooks around the picture or where lights use to be?
I would assume the lights were hung there.
Very, very breath-taking picture! I really don't even want to know if this chapel is going to ome down.
Im sorry im not very religiouse but a lamb???? Is that God's pet or something?
To answer Tom's question, the Lamb here represents Jesus, He is referred to in the Bible as "The Lamb of God" and so in a place like this that is what the lamb represents.
Just so you know, the dove represents the holy spirit.
Hope that answers your question.

Mrs. Gogo
Tom - Jesus Christ is often referred to as "The Lamb of God" because he was so peaceful. There is also the belief that when the Lamb lays with the Lion, there will be world peace and redemtion. The Lamb is a major icon for a few different things within the Christian lexicon; however, it almost always means the pure and innocent or, in this case, Jesus Christ.
I am sorry, I can't stop laughing!! Well said Serrena & Van Gogo.
This is what happens when two posters hit "Submit" at the same time. *lol*
Sorry Serrena, but I have to correct you. Jesus is callled the "lamb of God" not because he was peaceful. (He really wasn't) But Jesus is called the Lamb of God because he was sacrificedas were many lambs were sarificed to God during Bible times.
Hmm ... yeah, I can see that. Sorry ... I wasn't raised in a Christian household. Makes sense to me ... and I'm not offended, so nothing to be sorry for. I was wrong. Forgive my mis-information.
No offense but I like Serrena's interpetation better for the Lamb of God...

just maybe how I was raised...

Anyways,

love the photo. Shows the love of art and God in the picture. The colors are amazing. Great shot Motts.
How beautiful! What brilliance! I can imagine that these pictures were calming to the persons that worshipped here. They have a calming effect on me.
thanks for clearing that up and just for the record Tom Tom and I are not the same person.
No he's two of you. ;-)
Isn't lamb of god some heavy metal band?
Yes, its a heavy metal band.
Very nice picture .What do you think the hooks were for ?
OUT DID YOURSELF AGAIN MR MOTTS.
If you look at Jim Howe's pix, you'll see there was a oaken canopy over the main altar mensa that was the custom. Father Adam had the back outfitted for drapes to match the liturgical seasons
here was a
"here was a"

A what? Talk about a cliffhanger!
Another beautiful fresco! It's a shame that so many of these religious schools have closed. Also, it's a shame that there are so few vocations to the religious life.
