Thermostat

Thermostat

Looks like some of the intrumentation has been removed, but I'm guessing it was a thermostat. It was behind the thick wooden doors on the sides.

this is the hallway control of the the shower temperature and pressure....3rd floor
Lynne, this a prime example of the copper that gets stripped out of these buildings.
Scavengers tear up the walls to get the copper to recycle.
Who'da thunkit? Must be worth a copper penny. ;-)
Theres a lot of copper and brass there, i am supprised nobody has stolen it yet.
I vaguely remember reading a story about a couple of crackheads that were pulling copper wire out of some abandoned street lights, and one of the lights was still electrified, one of them got electrocuted.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Let us give thanks that we live in a country where we are allowed and afforded the freedom to enjoy the fruits of abandoned buildings, old dumps, and the wonderful photos given thereof.
Grifspop,
I remember reading the same story, don't remember where it was, but i beleve it was in a third world country.

Grifspop,
Your story reminds me of a story I heard about some thieves who'd patiently watched some engineers lay miles of cable for a new building (I think) before sneaking in at night and pulling it all out.

Sadly for them it was fibre optic cable! (Probably damaged and useless after they'd ripped it out, too).
I realize this is late to the party, but that's probably a water pressure regulator rather than a thermostat. Copper pipes are almost exclusively used for potable water. JFYI.
