Well said, Toot! The thing that I wonder about is why Mr. Motts just doesn't post something as an update that he is alive and well, just busy, but the web site is far from abandoned or dead. If he did that, it would stop all the rumors. If he IS in some trouble to the point he CAN'T post, then I suppose we'll just have to wait. But I do think that we should stop speculating. I can't find anything anywhere about him being arrested so in my mind I'm just going to chalk it up to the fact he's preoccupied and will eventually come home to Opacity.

I've been on this website for years. I love it. Nothing is more interesting than the idea of history inside of something as simple as architecture. And the idea of time in the form of decay. Such an interesting place to spend some downtime!

I see nothing legitimate about this crap that is being posted. The Chateau d'If Marseille Prison has not been used as a prison since the end of the 19th century so good luck with that. Motts posted that he had a lot going on - he said some good and some not so good. So why does that give license to everyone to come up with these bizarre stories and garbage? None of us know what is going on with Motts - only he knows and stupid posts like the ones on here are probably the reason why he doesn't say a word about anything! Please think before you post - people can get hurt with rumors like this.

Enough with the baloney people! Yes Mr. Motts is having some legal issues abroad but he did not commit suicide in a French prison for crying out loud! Shame on you whoever you are! I think it would show a great deal of respect for Mr. Motts to drop the conversation altogether, lest the facts become grossly exaggerated.

Cynthia, if you read over the "About" section as well as other pages here, it states that the location of some sites are not given out on purpose. That's why some of the place names are not the actual names, but fictitious ones to also prevent the disclosure of location. It's done on purpose to prevent hundreds of people from visiting them and possibly getting in trouble. All that said, there are subtle hints and if you compare some of the photos with other web sites like this one, sometimes you can figure out the real name and location. I have found photos on other sites that resenble ones here and those other web sites list the actual place name. I believe Mr. Motts does this for liability reasons so if someone trespasses and gets arrested, they can't say they got the location information from this web site. Wise and makes sense to me.

I know of a deserted cememtery in Newark, New Jersey in the Central Ward & cannot figure out if your is the same one ? Is this on purpose ?

Candace, did you actually read that article? I have several times and it does not mention anything about Motts being arrested. It has some quotes from him, mentions this site and his name is in the keywords at the bottom. Unless I'm missing something this doesn't say anything about his whereabouts.
