The massive brick edifice of the brewery loomed before us when we arrived in Madgeburg; it was a spectacular sight. The roof line was dotted with small saplings clinging to the masonry, feeding off the building like a kind of parasite. The stacks of old tires that leaned against the structure seemed to mock the surrounding grandeur and long lost pride that was once here. There were definitely people inside the structure on this day, perhaps assessing the building or doing some other kind of work. Not having the luxury of time we started to wander around the outskirts of the facility, checking out some satellite structures.
The spaces we were able to access inside weren't all too exciting compared to the exterior... but old breweries usually have pretty great basements. Diamant was no exception.
