We trudged through the swampy marsh that surrounded the old hospital; the chilly and overcast February day made everything seem dead and desolate. We focused on an area of the campus we hadn't seen yet - a complex that consisted of a gymnasium, theater, classrooms, and a wheelchair shop. This shop area appeared to be devoted to the creation and maintenance of the highly specialized wheelchairs used at this facility, accommodating for the various needs of each resident. I believe that most, if not all of this area was demolished in 2008 to make way for a new drug treatment building for the facility that now operates on the campus.
