For the Night
Only a sliver of moon shone down on the hospital this night; the overgrown paths and corners of the buildings were deep in shadows which were almost impenetrable without a flashlight. We decided to sleep inside to get a head start the next morning - however being way to excited to sleep that night, I ended up waking up to a late morning sun beaming through the old cracked windows. With only a few hours to shoot, I rushed through portions of the campus getting what I could... luckily I was able to return to get more in later years.
Each building was breathtaking from both inside and out; thankfully most renovations made in the past few decades were relatively unobtrusive, or so shoddy that they peeled and rotted off the sturdy foundations of the original construction. Light spilled gracefully between Corinthian pillars, through ornate arches, and winded down halls with vaulted ceilings. Although much of the furnishings were gone, a few key pieces of equipment were left behind to make the majority of empty spaces even more fascinating.
