Brownfields
I was a hot and dry August day... everything seemed dead, from the brown grass cracking underneath our feet to the local fauna which was nowhere to be heard or seen. The campus was very quiet, and we headed for the older looking building in the back of the property first (Riverfield), then the medical building, which was connected to the large round building (Fogarty).
Much of the place was trashed, either by kids or by the deterioration of cheap building materials. The last building we saw was quite interesting though; it looked a bit older than the others, and had a ornate center staircase that was retrofitted with black metal mesh. Upstairs were many padded chairs mounted on boards with four casters (swiveled wheels), and were also designed to rock back and forth. There was also some old equipment for people who weren't very mobile, and what looked like sun lamps, yet there was no elevator in the building, only two staircases...
