Uncovering the Past
I've been eying this place up for almost 2 years... I'm so glad I finally got to see it. Being inside was very nerve-wracking as workers and police were constantly moving in and around the building, knowing that every time I could hear them they could just as easily hear me inside was always on my mind. Turning down a hallway and seeing the ceiling lights glowing brightly and a plastic sheet covering the rest of it's expanse proved that the extra caution was not spent in vain.
The violent wards at the end of the massive wing were very interesting, the doors were solid metal and covered in a super thick mesh - one was even reinforced with metal braces. Another aspect that I have never seen before was that these doors had slots in the bottoms, I can only imagine for passing meals through without unlocking the door. Inside the rooms were all sorts of scratches, marks and stains on the walls, one room even had drawings underneath the layers of paint.
I spent the entire day in silent amazement.
