When I was leaving the meeting with my friend, I thought to myself what it would have been like if I drove past something like that in the past. You know, out for a Sunday drive with the family and look over at the patients getting fresh air.
I am thankful we have come so far with medications.
No wonder people were scared of mental illness ay?
We have gained alot of understanding of people's emotional/psychological/biological processes as well.
I'm lucky that I wasn't living in the early 1900's- I would have been considered insane for having anxiety/depression, I would have been a good canidate for a lobotomy.
Family could commit you easily back then.
