Wandering around looking for shiny things

So, I got out of work today, and decided to head to the riverwalk again.  Only this time, I headed the opposite direction I normally head.  I was in for a pleasant surprise.

It was pretty foggy out today...

Saw some old friends....

I'm ready for my closeup...

Can't leave Mr. Mallard out...

I moved down a little farther, and found some really good looking fog...

More of it, I really liked it...

There was a sudden movement to my right!!!!  (can you see what I saw?)

There was a full group of deer, about 5 or six of them...

She stood there looking at me for a few minutes, I got quite a few shots of her....

She got spooked by a jogger passing by...

Ma and Pa were sitting on a log on the way back to the car...

Say goodbye to the gang...  I'll be back to visit again soon...

Know what? This has absolutely nothing to do with abandonment and I freakin love it!
Excellent captures with the deer! What are you using for a camera?

I think that is one of the many benefits of photography: as you search for subjects you begin to realize that objects of beauty were around you all along and you never took the time to really notice.

Thanks gang.  I think these are some of the best I have taken to date.  The camera is a Nikon D40 with the 55-200mm Lens.

Great fog pics.

Fantastic!  The fog shots are beautifully haunting, and I like the deer photos, too!

HEY!!!  Gimme back my ducks!  Grin Cheesy Wink

So THAT is where they disappeared to when the coyotes invaded their turf!  LOL!

Normally when we have ducks here there are three or four drakes and one hen.  They leave when the coyotes start terrorizing them so they head off to safety...the noisy, DIRTY, messy geese however are a free buffet dinner (and the 'yote's can have 'em all!)

It's a little diffrent feeling when they appear in front of you on a dark country road.

The fog shots are awesome!!! Love the deer shots too! Great job capturing them! Grin Grin Grin Grin
I have yet to capture deer....although on our way to find places to shoot off of trails in the woods, Justin and I have rustled up several. They run off too fast to capture.
