The following applies if you're running some form of Windows.

Does "My Computer" show the device?
If so, can you right click explore?

Which software are you using for your camera?  Most organizing/editing software has a function titled Transfer.  Try using this directly rather than waiting for the automated feature to perform d/l.

If you cannot see the camera in "My Computer", try unplugging the camera and then re-plugging it back in.  Does it detect a newly added device?

Are you wired Computer USB port direct to camera?
If you are using a HUB try plugging the camera directly into the computer's USB.  If its a 2.0 HUB and its power supply has gone bad it may not be able to see a 2.0 device.

Is the camera functioning properly otherwise - when not attached to the computer?  i.e.  Does it allow you to look at pictures on the camera's screen and/or take additional pictures?

If Camera is mis-behaving.  Power down the camera.  Remove the batteries for 30 seconds (allows capacitor drain off).  Re-insert batteries (recharge if necessary of course), and then see if camera starts behaving properly again.  At that point re-attach camera to computer and let us know what happens if anything.

Don't know how much of the above you already tried - just covering the easy stuff first.  If the only problem you have is that it doesn't automatically perfrom d/l to the camera it can be fixed quickly.

That happened with my first digicam; one day it no longer popped up anything automatically when I plugged it into the computer and turned it on. It still showed up as a drive in 'My Computer' though.

It was the time of year, the time of day, for a small insistent sadness to pass into the texture of things. Dusk, silence, iron chill.
