Will science render men unnecessary?
The possibility seems real but don't drop your guy just yet

I normally don’t spend a great deal of time thinking about my sperm.
But recently a team of scientists announced they had made artificial sperm from human bone marrow, and media reports abounded with the dire news that my goodfellas (and by extension, me) had been rendered unnecessary.

If a woman chose to do so, speculated tabloid journalists, she could make sperm from her own bone marrow, fertilize another woman’s egg — and voila!

Whatever!!! Don't you worry about a thing. I'm sorry, but between the war of nature and science, nature will always rule. Thus as it has been in the begining before man even creeped into exisitance. I think that conception, true conception is made by nature not fabricated.

By that argument, then fertility treatments shouldn't be in the making either...

Could be a viable option for gay women, though.

I stiil think the idea is far fetched. Let's put conception in a bit of a nut-shell here. Sperm carries 23 XY Chromosomes and Ovum carries 23 XX Chromosomes. Now as the one and only spem enters the Ovum it releses a jolt of electricity thus electronicly stimulating the bond between the single helix chromosome strands from both parenting parties and being synthesized in the ovum matrix, fusing them into the double helix DNA that creates the celular division inside the egg and then creating a newborn life. If sperm can be easilly created from bone marrow, then so can artificial ovum. If that were an actual fact since bone marrow is either raw DNA or the producer of hemglobin. Then a hair folicle, saliva, or even skin cells can do the same. It would take nano technology to partiton the DNA from one single person, then Osama Bilnladen would be caught or there be colonies on the moon, or even an end to high gas prices. I don't believe scientists have that kind of technology yet, or there would be other applications first based on that findings before such a thing could happen

My friend here at work was wondering....if they can "create" sperm....why not "create" ovaries. Add sperm to ovum, press "Cook", and 9 months later "DING!!!!!" The lid opens, and you hear "WAAAAAAHHH!!!!"
THERE's a machine for you to dream up and create for our viewing pleasure, Z! The Baby CREATING oven....or is that ovum.....ovem?
