"Haigh Hall" grounds.

I went to take 'nature' photography on Saturday, in the grounds of.. Well, it used to be a hall, now it's kinda of a maintained mess with a craft building. The grounds are pretty huge, and there are some old plantations.
Anyway, I'll post that stuff up when I get home. But there's one shot that amused me, and I have with me at work.
As we were leaving the area, I climbed down into a dismantled railway line, to look at the poles. (Some pretty amazing trees, barrel rings and brickwork). I climbed back out via a bankment, and found an abandoned tea-party..
There was also a decimated table, and some sign-posts. Maybe the result of fly-tipping, but they had been set-up for dinner.
"We" took pity on the chair, and took it home with us, as it matches our house-chairs (It's large, though it looks kid-sized in the photo). Climbed all the way back up, and down the road with a heavy water-sodden bleedin chair. It's recovering in the kitchen.

Cool to find a chair there that matches your own! Wow those leaves around it look prickly.... they remind me of holly leaves.
Looking forward to more pictures Wolfus!

I was waiting until the rest went up before I started to be bad... But I would advise that you remove the prickley leaves before sitting down, or you would have a literal pain in the ass!

Those leaves are prickly. We have holly trees here too, but the leaves seems smaller than those in the above picture. Most likely a different variety.

Well, I can't speak for everyone, but I kinda identify with the "lonely chair" shots... Maybe there's a little bit of a lonely chair in all of us?

Yeah, I thought of the chair-fans around here when I was sorting the photos this afternoon. =P
I have a small confession; that chair shot was re-staged. I spotted where I'd need to stand, to take a few pictures of it unscathed, (yeah, those are regular old holly bushes, gone wild with the endless space. Mainly at eye-height) when one of my cohorts bounces over, grabs the chair, and started trying to swing it around.
"D'aah.
Put it BACK.
"
"What? Why?"
"..!?!.. Just put it back."
"You put it back, I don't know where it was."
Iunno whether I should start announcing what I'm going to photograph before each shot, or live with the fact the people I take with me are silly.
Whilst I continue sorting my shots, I give you the chair's sad companion.

I don't see anything wrong with "staging" your shots... I'm pretty sure that Motts does this too sometimes. Sometimes you just need to move something a little bit to capture the light right, or to get certain elements in, or because something is in your way...
Awww, poor chair!

Hmm. I guess I really hate touching things. I'm yet to learn the line between contrivance and simple rearranging. At the moment I find it unsettling if I have a hand in what goes on.

I don't like moving anything that has been outside, but I have had to move leaves and twigs out of my way. I have also 'repostioned' some things to get them away from unwanted shadows.
