Tommorow will be January 4th, 2007. Abatement at the site is now complete and N-10, the last building left at PSH, will finally meet it's fate. It's all over now folks, may she rest in piece   .

All I can think about reading this post is Rad Ed,  and how much I wish I could hug the crap out of him.

Big hugs to Radical Ed from me, too.

Gone... but not forgotten.

You can't mention Byberry without including His Radicalness and I'd like to add that despite having a major part of his lifestyle taken away Radical Ed has retained his dignity and composure, and has never bad-mouthed a number of people that a lesser man would have.
That is the mark of a man.

Fuck. This does suck.

Oh well, at least we still have Rad Ed to remind us of this place.

Thanks for the hugs all. There were so many of them I think I pooped myself.
PSH will be remembered by the survivors of it's oppressive walls, it's post-closing explorers, and through the thousands of photographs we've all taken of the place.
I was a wee forlorn for a short amount of time but I realize that this is what happens to abandoned buildings and I was lucky to have it around for so long.
Hey, I've been "playing" there since I was fourteen and I just turned thirty-eight the first week of December. I had my fun. I've grown up near it and lived with it all my life and now it's time to give up the ghost.
The ghosts will be around for some time still.

So, now that it's over, are the demolition people going to quit hanging out on the forums?  I can't imagine they would really want to stick around any longer...

Look at it this way.  Now you guys know what went on at the 'Berry you guys can now sit back and cackle at the construction problems that arise from building on top of  a former institution.  Make friends with the Sub contractors, they'll be local.  They will dish on the sub par construction going on at the site.  Much like Avalon Bay's efforts at DSH.  Then in letters to the editor dish on the 'Berry.  It's safe it's legal and it may just end up costing the developers on their bottom line ,when the place doesn't sell as well as they might like it to.  Word of mouth campaigns might help too.

Yeah brother I feel for ya,as I had said in another thread/post I know how ya feel the only difference between Byberry and Essex Mountain is that you grew up at the spot where as I found out about Essex Mountain after the fact but still had a chance and never did and now it is gone and seeing the pics hearing the stories makes me wish I had gone while I was able to.

That is why I say like before go while you have the chance cause sooner or later it will be gone, the only other thing that keeps me saying no is the thought of being arrested for breaking and entering or whatever.I think it was you who had said it best by saying (at my age the idea of being arrested is not so appeasing) or something along those lines,so it that reason that has kept me from making certian journeys.

But I raise a cold one to ya in her name!!!   PEACE BE WITH HER

If I were of age, me and the brick would be having a beer for Rad Ed as well.

I like Big Ed's idea though...it's just so sneaky.
