JM, Ellie is adorable!  What kind of dog is she?  She's got some big feet to grow into yet...did Snow finally get "used" to a d.o.g. being in HER house?

I love Ellie!  Snow does not look thrilled to meet her.  Do they get along now?  I love the ears - she has some growing to do.  Beauty!

She was listed as a Boxer/German Shephard mix due to the coloring of her and her sister (brindle).  However, none of her body features really line up with Boxer and her face is about all that is German Shephard.  So....  After a little internet research, we *think* she is Shephard and Great Dane.  Danes appear in both brindle and like Ellie looks, and her behavior and her stance is very very Dane.  We wanted medium, but it looks like we're getting large or extra large Cheesy

The cats mostly are ok now, she doesn't mess with them too much.  She is particularly of chasing the 8-toed part wildcat one, but those don't last long with it's perfected evasion techniques.  The 25 and 30 pound black cats (litter mates and HUGE) ignore her for the most part.

hi jm!  oh my!  your "puppy" is absolutely adorable...and BIG!!!!  I just loved the pic of your cat hissing at the dog...it made me laugh...I am sure your kitty wasn't too thrilled, but it was a cute picture.

she absolutely does look like a great dane.  One of my friends has four great danes, and the way she sits looks exactly like my friend's dogs.  but three of her dogs have like floppy-ish sort of ears.  one has the stand up ears.  yours looks like she has stand up ears...why is that?  how come some have floppy ears?  I'm not a dog person so please forgive my ignorance.   Undecided

anyway...hope you are well...take care!  ~R

Pure Great Danes ears won't stand up unless they're cropped.  This is mixed with a German Shepherd, which have prick or standing ears.  I'm guessing the Shepherd mixed in is making the ears stand up.

None of the cats were thrilled by the arrival of a dog, but they all got over it.

EIGHT-TOED cat?

Yup.  Both from paws have eight toes.  Even has dew claws on the back feet.  Small, stripes from head to toe too.  Very interesting cat.  I can't get to Photobucket from work or I'd post a pic ~

She does a bit. She's much smaller though I think.

Where'd you rescue your boys from? Or just from a shelter?

I currently have ten dogs. Eight are rescues. Jet was a stray pup who's mum was hit by a car (her brother was also rehomed), Jack my JRT was given to us by folk who left the country (the alternative was Euthanasia), JJ was rescued from a lady who had him and about six others in a plastic bag selling them as meat. A very common occurance here. My mum grabbed him and ran off. Buddy my gorgeous pomeranian followed me home one day. He was a stray who had severe Demodex so was completely baldy. Hedgie and Junior were dumped in my street in May. And the youngest two I've had since they were six weeks old. An irresponsible member of staff at my mum's cafe let his female husky mix out without a leash whilst in heat and one of the local stray males caught her and she gave birth to five unwanted puppies. One of whom passed away after the owner let the pups on his bed and he fell off, snapping his neck. As I have my buisness - dog training and boarding - my mum's boss asked if i'd take mum and pups till they could be weaned. So I did. Two pups were rehomed already but the other two are still looking for homes.

My mum's lab was bought in a pet store and my Alsatian was a Xmas pressie from my neighbour who breeds them.

I'm rambling on. Sorry.

This is Topaz and Dodger - the husky mix pups. 1/4 husky 3/4 street mix. They're 13 weeks old.

Dodger

Topaz (sorry it's so wee)

TEN DOGS?!?!  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Hopefully you have a nice big space for them to play, have their own "personal space" and such??  That's a lot of dogs!  Grin

(and I thought four was a lot before with one terrier/spaniel/mutt mix and three Chihuahuas!)

Yeah plenty space. Because of my job I have kennels and such. The bigger ones, JJ, Jynx, Jäger, Hedgie and Junior sleep outside in their kennels. Jack and Buddy sleep in their crates in my living room. The two little ones, Topaz and Dodger sleep in the kitchen and Jet sleeps wherever she likes. May be a little favouritism but she literally goes nuts if she's locked up. But she's totally deaf and has partial brain damage due to a brain tumor she had early in life so she's not really right in the head. There's pics of them in the thread I created "my stuff". Suppose I should post pics of em in here. I have a rabbit and three cats too haha. My house is a zoo.

Every cat or dog we had as a pet was a stray. Smiley My first doggy (he was here first- born with him) was a German Shepard. Pictures of my in a diaper riding him like a horse is a family favorite...and they pull it out to show anyone.  Roll Eyes

Always had a cat or dog or both as pets.
