The church is near, but the road is icy. The bar is far, but I'll walk very carefully!

Here's my dog Daisy, she's a Beagle/Doberman mix, very affectionate and playful.

^^This one was the first pic I ever took with my *IST DL, just a few minutes after taking it out of the box.

The "man" of the house ... Rocky.  He's the only pet I have a photo of on the computer.

Wow, Rocky is a pretty kitty. My cat is an orange tabby but has long hair like yours! I like the long haired cats. Smiley

Mine is black and white. Can't remember what they call the breed...not long hair, not short hair....well, he's a regular cat...Unfortunately, I have no pictures of him though...

Thanks, she loves all the attention she can get.

Yeah, it really is an unusual mix. Her body shape and head shape are identical to a Doberman, with ears in between both breeds (Dobermans grow floppy ears if they aren't cropped) and a Beagle's tail (Natural Doberman tails are very thin and whiplike), and of course she's got the coloration of a Beagle. Very narrow-waisted and muscular, and a super fast runner. Size-wise she's about exactly halfway between average Beagle and average Doberman. She defends the house like a Doberman would, barking her head off at any intruder, but backing away if they approach, never attacking or baring her teeth unless cornered and protecting me- just like a well-trained Doberman should. She also sniffs and points like a typical hound, and will bay when an animal is around.

She's such a loving dog, always wanting to be hugged or petted, and never turns down a chance to run or play. I got her at the pound 18 months ago, she only cost me $18, but it's the best $18 I ever spent. She and I share a special bond, I seem to always know exactly what she's after, and she knows exactly what I want as well, and usually obeys with the tiniest of commands- people who haven't spent a lot of time around her often won't even know I've given a command. I guess I'm part of her "pack" or something.

Having a pet can be one of the most rewarding experiences a person can have. With the rest of my family hundreds to thousands of miles away right now, and no significant other in my life, my dog is all the family I have right now.

Since shots for all of the other animals around here are in short supply, this will have to do. This is our Bull Mastiff, Tank. Enjoy  Smiley

This was probably taken sometime within his first week at the house.

And here's the fat arse now

Hope these aren't too big.  If they are, I'll resize them later.

The first 5 pix I took yesterday in the back yard while it was snowing, so they are a tad dark.  However, it was dark outside at the time, so that happens, or so they tell me.  I don't get out often if I can avoid it.  It's three of our four salukis - Si'laah, Soulmaz, and Zain - the girls.  The last pic was our holiday card this year and includes our old red boy, Sakr, who is 15 1/2.
