Tonite they had a story on about the Dixmont site landslide. They did a "ghostly" story saying that the site is reportedly haunted by it's past as a Hospital. They put up pics of Dixmont on the screen and several were Mott's pic and the screen said "Courtesy of Opacity" !!!!!! I was so excited.  Shocked They then did an interview with a spiritual ghost hunting type lady and she talked about the place's ghost getting revenge and causing the hillside to slide, etc, etc.   They did this "fun" kind of story due to Halloween being close. It was cool to see Opacity on TV though!

Update on the slide: There are still no answers, and there is a political figure, I think a State Rep or Congressman who said he wanted to try to push to make the site a park or greenway.  Cheesy I can only hope.

If you believe in ghosts or not, ghost stories serve a purpose.

I would hype the ghost stories all the way, and when the Wal-Mart opened I would post bogus or true ghost stories on line. I would make this one the Amitiville Horror of Wal-Marts, just to make people too afraid to shop there.

I'm evil that way.

I think there is a link to a video there.  I'm not sure if it is the news story or not.  I have trouble viewing video.

I hope my roommates don't think I'm nuts. I shouted "yeah!" when I saw the photos.

I love local news stories. They're so cheesy. The music and everything.

I saw the news story tonight and thought it was great!  I have been fascinated with Dixmont for a number of years, but the last time I searched for info on it, several years ago, I could hardly find anything.  I am amazed at all there is now.  I am really enjoying Motts pictures on the site.  I just wish I could have actually gone up there before it was demolished.

Reading all of the comments from the group that formed almost a year ago has been very entertaining - some of the comments are so funny, while others are very informative.  Lynne, you give some excellent information and links.  I take it you've been invovled in the mental health field for a number of years??

I will definitely be a "regular" on here now.   Cheesy

Wow... so cheesy...  so awesome!!!  I'm just pumped to see Motts pictures being credited for once; I've caught some pics a couple of times being used in TV shows that "forgot" to credit the source...

Lynne, I don't care what you say, there's no way you're 'that old'..! (Unless you meant the floods this week in Texas, in which case I apologize for misunderstanding!) Shocked
