I thought Danville was still open?

It is. I meant that when it does close i hope it is preserved.

Package draws police scrutiny
Saturday, September 30, 2006
BY TOM BOWMAN
Of The Patriot-News
The state police bomb squad X-rayed a suspicious package yesterday morning that employees found in the state Senate mail room.

The incident started at 9:55 a.m. when employees found the package in the mail room at the former Harrisburg State Hospital, North Cameron and Maclay streets, said Ed Myslewicz, a spokesman for the state Department of General Services.

Harrisburg city firefighters, Capitol police and a state police bomb squad were called to the mail room, Myslewicz said. State police X-rayed the package and found it did not contain a bomb.

"It was not a threatening device, but the matter remains under investigation," Myslewicz said.

Myslewicz would not say who the package was sent to or why the investigation continues. He said he would release more information on the incident when the investigation is finished.

An Amish guy i knew stayed at the Harrisburg Hospital in the late 80's early 90's he said he didnt like it as much as Wernersville State hospital maybe a 100 miles east of there. I stayed in Wernersville twice in the mid-late 90's. Its a pretty large hospital with underground tunnels all over underneath the place. heres a link with photos of it. Oddly no pateient shots though. The furniture and carpeting looks a little nicer than when i stayed there. but maybe i was too wacked out on meds to notice.

lol Im sure they didnt have a computer room back when i stayed, or workout machines. They did have a nice snackbar with cigarettes, coffee fries, hamburgers stuff like that. But the amount of patients staying there has been downsized alot in the past 10 years.  Who knows how long it will stay open. I do remember the food in the cafeteria being much nicer the 2nd time i was there, a few years later. I was a vegetarian and wouldnt eat alot of stuff, so they started making lots of vegetables.
