Came across this site while researching some new exploration locations. Have a few decent ones under my belt but always on the hunt for more local ones. (upstate NY -- wayyyyyy upstate :p)
I was looking for a thread on rules and guidelines about posting pics, locations, and discussions about 'pitfalls and other gotcha's. I don't want to start off on the wrong foot nor endanger any of these places.
I am a semi=pro photographer (the gear and shots are pro but i dont try to make a living at it). I will post and share some when I get my feel for the place.
Thanks for such a great site!

Just got the rules... 1. No posting of hidden location names Many places listed on opacity.us are given pseudonyms for a reason: to protect the site and it's owner's integrity and well being. I have made great strives to keep their names off the Internet and will continue to do so. If you don't agree then start your own website and stay off of mine.
2. No posting of information on how to enter locations This is NOT an Urban Exploration board, and it is a publicly viewable forum; no information pertaining how to enter property or a building will be tolerated (eg. open window on the south end etc).
Hmm... will have to figure out names for the photos and pic locations them.

Another from the same day and location. Most of my photography work is not urban decay. But that subject and GETTING THE SHOTS are definitely my favorites :-)

That first one is stunning. How did you edit it? Nice start- hope to see more of your work. What kind of photos do you take?

Thanks. Started out as a landscape photographer. Have done some model work the past 6 months or so. Have had a dozen or so published in magazines. Outdoor subjects mostly.
ALWAYS have camera with me.
Currently I use a Nikon D7000 which I moved to because of its amazing low light capabilities.
Its made the exploration photos MUCH easier to deal with.
This location above was in Watertown NY. Will be going back there in a few weeks for more shots.

Another shot from same location. Only had an hour there Tues. and lots of ground to cover, Was more of a scout than a real shoot.

The main idea is to keep the forum from becoming a "shopping list" of places to go see. I'd say just use your best judgement, and if you do post one of the "forbidden" location names we'll just edit the name, so don't be too worried. Glad to have you here, those shots are so atmospheric!

Don't judge me unless you have looked through my eyes, experienced what I have and cried as many tears as me. Until then back off, cause you have no idea.
