Does anyone here have or had gallstones?  I just found out that I have them.  Is it best just to get it removed?

It is not necessary to have them removed all the time and passing a gall stone pretty much sucks but they are not the end of the world.  It's best to consult with a physician, but as long as you are not having any inflammation issues or "back up" problems they are usually very minor and often stay pretty small.  Sometimes they can even be broken up with ultrasound.  They really only become an issue when the calcification gets so big that nothing else can pass through the organ.  They are mostly just something to keep an eye on and don't require anything to be done unless you are uncomfortable or having issues.

I lived with Gall Bladder disease until I hit my 40's.  I had issues that I always thought were "stomach" aches until I started having actual severe pain and attacks.  Ended up with removal and I feel much better.  I can eat salads again! There are options, such as diet, or lasers, but sometimes it just has to go.

Try drinking some unsweetened lemon juice. It is supposed to trigger gallbladder contractions which releases the bile into the intestines. Bile helps digestion. I think the galstones are just hardened bile.

You need to have it monitored, you could keep forming them and eventually you'll have to get the Gall bladder out.  If the doctor recommended a diet, follow that.  If I remember right fatty foods set off gall bladder attacks.
