The building was actually being worked on inside to prepare it for demo, which sucks, but seeing it go down this way is just sad...It had been abandoned for a long time, and was the subject of many shoots for me over the last 5 years...here is a shot of the front tower that I took last winter in the dark...

I just saw this on Masslive randomly and rushed over here to see if you knew/posted about it. I haven't even been to this site in over a year.  Undecided

What a shame this is. Honestly surprised it didn't happen sooner. Places are dwindling around here.

What a proud old building.    Pretty sad how fire claims so many old buildings...very curious as to the cause of this.

The fire was caused by worker error as they were cutting metal and making sparks...one simply got away from them...

The meat packaging plant my grandfather worked at burned down the same way.  Easy enough to make a simple mistake, especially on places that are older and made of flammabale materials.  Always gotta wonder how much asbestos that threw off too, hopefully they had it all abated before it went up, if there was anything in there.

WHAT?!!!! That sucks so bad. I loved seeing that place, seems like EVERYTHING in the state that's beautiful gets burned down or just demo'd. Whatever, at least I'll have some AWESOME condo's to show my grand kids when they ask about the past.
