Everything before 1/4/2012 has been deleted from the off topic forum. There were some long-standing threads in there. What happened?

Posts with no activity for a month or more are dumped automatically.

Yep, if it goes a month without a new post it gets taken off the server to save space. OT is the only section that does that.
