Seems to be going well, its alot easier for me to open up than I thought. They dont push me to talk about things if I dont want to. Everyone in group is super nice. One of the therapists is a little annoying but I live with it for the sake of getting better. I had a really rough night last night and thought about cutting for the first time in over a year. I didnt do it though and talked about it in group today and I feel alot better.

Therapy is a slow and plodding process most of the time.  It's rare that you have a sudden AH Ah moment and everything falls into place and resolves. Usually people assume it'll fix you and give you answers too, but sometimes it just creates more questions.  The big thing is to remember it took a while to get where you are at and fixing it can take time.

yeah thats what my therapist doesnt get she thinks I can just change the triggers and i cant. The triggers are people so its hard to change that lol. She got pissed at me today lol but i really dont care because i know i'm trying to do what I can do to change the situation but I cant change people. sure I can change the way I deal with it but that doesnt help when the trigger is always changing.

What evilavatar said is true... I was just trying to be positive as you had first mentioned that it was easier to open up than you had once thought. Therapy has its ups and downs. Sometimes its like you have to take 2 steps back to make 1 step forward. Undecided But, i do hope you can make some progress, even if its like you said...learning your triggers and how to deal. How to deal is really ALL most of us can ask for. We would like to make other ppl. understand or even change the way they are, or, how they think. But, only THEY can do that. Keep doing the best you can Todd. Take Care.

It doesnt really help though that the therapist tells me to do things i'm already doing. When I tell her i'm doing those things she says i'm not. So glad she's on vacation next week.

Almost like they are pre-programmed to say certain things and it does not matter if you are already doing those things.  They need to tailor it to the individual more.  Stock answers do not always help.

Sorry Todd...since I'm rarely here I didn't see this post.
Hang in with therapy or find a new one if yours isn't working out. It is a long hard process that is worth every drop of sweat and every tear.  HUGS

Sorry to not post in so long guys, I've been having a hurricane beat the hell out of my brain as of late. Can not find a proper med combo that works for me without causing something I already have to get worse ie, seizures, dizziness and leg problems. The psychiatrist doesnt seem worried at all, so i'm dealing with all this crap completly alone and unmedicated. Its pure hell and I hate myself for it because I have no one else to blame because it is my brain that is screwed up.

Sometimes, the problem IS meds. I'm still reading a really good book called "Alice's Jacket"  Everyone who calls themselves a therapist/psychologist/etc needs to read this book.
