HEYYYYY! How are ya, Opa? Been a while - things are typically busy as hell, but I've had a few opportunities to get out and about so I figured I should share...This first one is from a fairly large factory complex that has had some changes over the years. The original brick and beam factory was built in 1871, and additions of concrete were added later. I guess a large portion of the original is gone now due to a massive fire years ago, but there's still a lot left...There were two of us initially - it was a last minute decision after getting out of work early one day - as we got past the first (and only) barrier, and young couple on a motorcycle pulled up and came in, too. The guy hung with us for a about 20 minutes, but his girlfriend went her own way and they took off soon enough...This place had been getting cleaned out last year by what seemed to be an official crew, and is thus mostly empty, but here and there were a few cool items, and the light in most places above the basement was awesome...

Beautiful 19th century brickwork & construction. I really like number 5 with the arch, wooden door, and hardwood floors. Excellent set.

Yay! a set from EHD Grin Love, Love # 2. The monster on the post/column cracks me up in #7 and... # 9 and 10 are really cool. What is that oily substance on the water?

That oily stuff is actually just water and dirt that is over saturated in post processing to make it look green...And, there's probably plenty of oil in it too - it just wasn't as green in real life...! Smiley

I have a bunch more to post and man, I'll tell ya - I really miss OPA and all you good folks - thanks for checking these out and be on the lookout for a couple more sets real soon - one is from inside a massive clock tower built in 1871 or so, and the other is from an 1841 former brothel in which I was introduced to some serious negative energy from ...well, not sure what, but put it this way - there have been 3 murders and one suicide in there, and though most of it is gutted, the basement was NOT a cool place to hang out alone...Anyway - more coming soon, and thanks again! My little Rebel XS has now taken well over 40,000 images, and I still don't have anything to edit with but Picasa, so I really don't know what these look like on your side. My monitor sucks, too, so I'm always curious to know if the colors and lighting are all weird or what...But anyway, be back here real soon! Grin

OMG   Every time I let myself sit at the computer to look at OPA I find another picture that is just outstanding.  #2 is amazing.  At first I thought I didn't like it as much because of the B&W, but then it shows the detail of the ivy so much better.  It is like the one photog at my wedding who knew how to set the camera to show the lace.   Hers are the only pics that show the lace.   The pro didn't take any that showcased the lace.   I feel the same about this.    Thank you for posting.

Wow Ravenna - thank you! I do a lot of stuff in b&w - I think it lends itself well to the features of locations like these - not always, just sometimes...! I'm very glad you enjoyed that shot! And yes, I'd have to say that after spending a good deal of time studying what some wedding shooters do, I feel like a lot of them miss out on a lot details - not sure why - I've shot at least a 1/2 dozen of them now, and i try very hard to find those details and shoot them the best I can - I'm not bragging here, just saying that some shooters don't seem to see all of what's there...is it that they can't, or is it that they just don't bother? Anyway, thanks again to all for your kind words here...!
