This is truly a tragic story of abuse of young people with autism and learning difficulties. There is an attached video which may not work in your country, if so you may count yourself lucky. I watched this absolutely agast...

you just need to download a plugin for it to work here. I have the bbc on my homepage through google along with about 6 other papers and the videos can be finicky, but usually work when I am on my home computer.

The videos worked for me.
How sad, and it's the same in many places for the elderly too. It makes me angry that people can treat other humans this way!

I didn't even need a plugin. It played. That is unbelievable. Hidden cameras. And talking smaller facilities and communities - sounds like de-institutionalization all over again.
Bet this little film opened a lot of eyes! I feel so bad for the residents....that is unforgivable.

Don't judge me unless you have looked through my eyes, experienced what I have and cried as many tears as me. Until then back off, cause you have no idea.

I read half the article and was so upset, I couldn't go on let alone watch the video. This makes me SICK. Horrible.

People do stupid thing when they think no one is looking. It's a shame to hear about abuse in people who cannot protect themselves, but it's also an unfortunate fact of life. The sad part is it didn't get caught and corrected when it was something less serious. People don't get to that level of abuse over night.
