I can speak to it a bit.  The iniative is to reduce and where ever possible eliminate seclusion and restraint.  I believe it over used in some cases and under used in other situations...

I agree that it needs to be governed more better than it used to was. No doubt. I have heard of the deaths that occur when it is used. At the same time, this is, as I have learned HERE, the reason. All you hear IS the deaths, not the vastly outweighing NON-deaths from its use. Thus, the squeaky wheels...... I wish I could fix them..... :twisted:  :twisted:

I would hope to God if *I* were ever out of control that someone would care enough about me to not let me hurt myself or hurt someone else.  

Speaking as someone who's had issues in the past keeping control of myself, let me agree with you sincerely on that statement.  I would have loved to have someone there for me to keep me safe when I couldn't.  I don't have any experience with them, but I can say that restraints seem a lot more appealing when you can't always do the job yourself.
