I recently stumbled upon this article from my home town newspaper and figured I would share.

Interesting.  At least he had the common sense to report it.  Do not blame him in the least for not providing his name.  Someone would do something to make his life miserable.  Am surprised not more of this is found in these old hospitals.

That's awful. I bet it was a third trimester abortion.

I already said this once. But whoever it was that discovered this and put their freedom on the line by reporting it will always have my respect for doing the right thing. What a horrible and truly sad discovery.

So he found this fetus in a container in a morgue area of a hospital? I wouldn't of even thought of reporting it in that situation. Nice he did though

Big time good karma for this fellow 'splorer for doing the right thing...and kudos to the Washington Post for NOT playing up the "trespasser" aspect of who the informant was too.

I'm prepared to be flamed to absolute death for this question, but that's okay. Am I the only one who finds absolutely nothing wrong with finding the remains of a fetus in a jar at a hospital?

Wow. I'm so glad he reported this. He could have punked out and walked away. But this baby deserved better. This child deserved to be discovered & reported. May God bless it's little soul. Larry D.

I agree, to a point. I think it definitely should have been removed when they closed down, but it doesn't seem out of place in a morgue or hospital.

I doubt there were parents out there, longing to bury their aborted child, but I guess you never know.

Sad story. I could never understand how all the medical records have been left behind, let alone that. I'm not sure "nothing wrong with it" is how I would describe it. Not unexpected, or out of the ordinary, but that certainly never should have been left there. I also understand why one would think it was a 3rd trimester abortion, but fingernails and eyelashes are formed by 4 months. By pointing this out, I mean no argument, simply that I understand the reaction. I would have been horrified, and not sure I would've reported it either. Glad he did, though.
