I don't think you could have offended anyone Tony, certainly not me. Congrats on giving up the Cigaretts and the other stuff too
I have a group of friends who still do alot of Coke, but at their ages ( late 30's - late 40's) I worry about them health wise, lets face it after thirty your body doesn't handle things like that as well  . Coke seems so much milder than Heroin to me, is that weird? Its more a social drug where H is more a close the door hide yourself away type of high.

Thanks, Kadee! I don't think it weird that coke seems milder. I agree! I think pot is the mildest, though, as it has no actual physicaly addictive qualities. (as far as I know) Coke is an upper, and a bit more addictive. Heroin and nicotine, though, are both extremely addictive.

Just to be clear, LSD is not an addictive substance! Psychedelics aren't addictive. Marijuana is not classified as physically addicting, but psychologically habit-forming, which can be about as hard to kick. I've known people who quit pot after decades-long habits. They definitely had physiological withdrawal. I figure if you ingest any psychoactive substance long enough, it will pervade your entire physiology.
I've never tried anything stronger than hashish. I enjoy marijuana
occasionally
. If I do it occasionally, I enjoy it. If I do it habitually, it just drains my energy and my bank account!
As with acid, I eschewed psychedelics because of my history of depression and anxiety.
Stimulants never had any appeal to me, except a strong cup of coffee!
The only way I would try opiates is under close medical care for pain management. Even so, I know I would get addicted, and I would have to deal with withdrawal.
My sister had adult-onset scoliosis and a diskectomy. Her pain was excruciating!!! She used oxycodone and got addicted. Without it, however, she would have been bedridden and completely dysfunctional; a basket case. Pain meds get a lot of bad press (thanks to pricks like Rush Limbaugh), but they really do help those who need them live a functional life. Of course, the pharmacists still treat you like a junkie. My sister took the pharmacist to task for his prying suspicion. She said, "Look, buddy, I don't get high off this shit, I need it to do my job and take care of my kid!"
I remember seeing my sister's oxycodone bottle on the counter and thinking of pilfering a pill. Nooooo! What it comes down to with opiates is, I don't know what I'm missing, and I don't wanna know! A friend of mine invited me to do so opium with him. I declined. I'm not gonna eat the fruit from that tree of knowledge!

This has really gotten me thinking how drugs have "evolved" over the decades. Just like everything else in our society they have been pushed to the worst point. Like from the "free love" fun tripping time of the 60's to the point of killing for a damn baggie of Crack in our culture nowadays. It doesn't help that these new drugs are being cut up and synthetically made with God knows what, as opposed to using the actual drug in its pure state like opium or the LSD of the 60's.
People today have so much more to be afraid of when it comes to experimenting with drugs. I never partook in drug use much when I was in high school, I didn't like the loss of control over my body when on something ( I tried a thing or two, I grew up in the 80's and Mescaline (SP) was all the rage, but I did it once and it scared me, didn't care for pot, it made me paranoid  , and even drinking which we did heavily every weekend in the smal town I lived. But it only took a time or two of drinking to the point of vomitting to know my limit and know how to stay in control of myself.
I don't think that if hypothetically I was at this LaHonda place back during the tests that even then given the times I would have voluntarily taken part in their experiments. Drugs scare me- plain and simple.
