last 6 months i been walking around with this condidtion and got it confermed by a genral surgeon but i said i will  have the op at a later date cos theye said there will be a risk of infection and a chanch of the hernia return. and it will give me a chanch to find a job

yesterday i was rushed into hospital with it strangling and i was in much pain until they gave my gas and air then i thought it was funny

now the problem i got now is i will now have to put my health first by i going to give the go ahead to have the op done wats happened.   this will put me job hunting into caos it aint all ready cos i dont think i going to tell them if i have an interveiw cos its an employers market out there they wont set me on

what do you think should i tell them when i have an interveiw cos my hernia is only going to strangle again if i dont have the op and i only putting my needs first and you see what trouble i face by doing this

I really do understand that you are needing a job (I just recently began a new job after being unemployed for over a year), but I think you need to be open and honest with any prospective employer.  It wouldn't do you any good to not be honest about your needing a hernia operation.  If the prospective employer is a decent human being, he/she will understand and be willing to work out the details with you; if not, then you should ask yourself if you really would want to work for said person.
These are difficult times for many people, but please take care of yourself.
Wishing you the best of luck with your health and with a new job.

I think you need to be honest. A half-decent employer (an endangered species, I know) would respect that honesty.
And what's the alternative? Get set on and after three weeks this flares up and you have to lie again...

I agree,  you should be honest about it,   and definitely take care of your health first and foremost.

I just had hernia surgery 2 weeks ago and I had an interview today. I did not even mention the surgery at all (didnt really get a chance lol) but I didnt mention it because the work I could be doing wont really bother it. But if you NEED the surgery by all means mention it and get it taken care of. If you dont then it will just fester and get worse.

Having had two hernia operations before I was 8 years old I sympathize with you.  Once I got so I could walk normally after the second op, recovery was rapid, and aslong as I wasn't going cartwheels or lifting automobiles nothing bothered me after the stitches came out
