While visiting up east last week, Navi, kaptn splash, and I attempted to visit a large sprawling state hospital with loads of buildings... only to find our entry point had been sealed, security was very active, and several public works trucks were at work on the campus. Writing that one off for now, we then headed up to this hospital, which also happens to be a sprawling state hospital campus with loads of buildings.

All of them seemed to be sealed up tight, and as we rounded a corner toward the back of the campus, suddenly we saw several pieces of construction equipment hard at work. They didn't seem to be working on any of the buildings, thankfully, but were still too close for comfort. We then headed for the other end of the campus, as a police car rolled by. We started thinking of what we could say to explain ourselves, but then the officer turned away from us and drove off. So far, so good.

We finally did find an entrance to one of the buildings, and in we went. The building was small-ish and pretty well cleaned out, but seemed like a good start!

2. Most of the boards didn't fit perfectly over the windows, letting in wonderful little slivers of light.

While we were standing in the main lobby of the building, hopelessly exposed if security were to unlock the door and come in, we heard a car pull up right out front- and we then heard the door open and someone step out. We froze in our tracks, almost afraid to breathe for what seemed like ten minutes, until eventually we heard the car door close again, and the car then drove off. Realizing they may have been onto us, and not wanting to take any more chances, we quickly made for the exit and headed for the road... but not after spying a couple of possible entrances to some other buildings. Maybe next time...

Another great set.  Beauty and sadness in the decay.

Don't judge me unless you have looked through my eyes, experienced what I have and cried as many tears as me.  Until then back off, cause you have no idea.
