Actually all good ideas...but...hows about connecting the comments section to the forum? One login would work for both.

This would get rid of people using multiple ID's in the comment section and possibly get rid of the spam-bots too.

Just a thought...

I haven't really been follwing this thread (nor have I seen any comments like that.. maybe I don't go back often enough?) but what about a simple solution to the comments thing..
     Making folks log into the forum before being allowed to post a comment? All the folks that post there I know are on here..
     Pros: Less 'anonymous' and 'annoying' posters.
     Cons: Another step that one has to do before posting a comment. Could result in more 'garbage' accounts here on the forum?

Just a thought..

The cons seem to outweigh the pros, we get quite a number of people reminiscing about these places who just pass by and aren't interested in the process of signing up to a forum, I'd hate to lose that. Also people signing up could be considered 'annoying'...

Yer the boss, boss! Again, I have yet to see any of this 'spam', so to me it's just as well..

If you get up early, let's say about 5 or 6 AM, and go into the comments, you may see several spam messages.

I also think more spam shows up on weekends.

I think we are getting about 10% of the spam we used to have with the new verification technology when links are submitted, but I haven't been able to be online all too much this week

we see this in the malls, the wal marts, the gas stations, any where that you would go from day to day. intimidation attempts. im so big and bad with my pals ( or homies as they call it). if they are so "tuff" and they "be thugin" why wont they drag their sorry asses out of the side tunnels and face society up here where the rest of us spend most of our time. as far as im concerned these are nothing but a bunch of children that arent even old enough to grow a moustach. as far as packing, come on down to fla. we all do. dont have to retreat here.  as for motts in a way i hope he does meet these punks one day and leaves them in the so called side tunnels of neverland. as you can tell this bully crap pisses me off. sorry if i offended anyone besides the kiddies that were the root of this thread. if they dont like it send em to me :twisted: [/u]
