Not much is known about this place, other than it was to be
an indoor/outdoor ice arena primarily for a local semi-pro
hockey team. Funding collapsed, and the project was abandoned
when only partially completed. It's now a magnet for taggers
and ATV riders, and the water is home to a huge snapping turtle.
In a way, I am reminded of the ruins of the Roman Coliseum
when looking upon the unfinished spectator stands.

You may recognize the place from Patrick's thread about it
some time ago; this is my perspective. I never saw the huge
turtle, either.   Tongue

Had the project been completed the shopping center would have had a better chance, it originally was an outlet center but it was failing before the project ever got off the ground. The location is near a major highway but it's still quite rural which doesn't help the situation.

Great shots Sked, I like your perspective on a lot of these and really like the composition of 2 and 15

Aforementioned Snapping turtle, it's about 2ft in diameter

Some of those shots remind me of the Buckner Building in Whittier, especially the long hallways.

There used to be some really cool construction equipment not far from my house that was left abandoned for a while, but now they're starting to clean it up.

Nice pics, shame about the tractors though.

It looks pretty close to a shopping center. Which I am suprised they do not use the land.
Reminded me of a shopping center, too! Very good set Sked as usual. I wonder who gave the finger in the last one. Roll Eyes
