Never had a problem until tonight.  However, now I can't login with firefox.  When I try off the login.php page I it will let me through but won't log me in.  If I try while I'm attempting to post, it takes me to http://www.opacity.us/forum/login.php?redirect=posting.php&mode=newtopic&f=2and no matter how many times I hit 'submit' it will just send me right back to that page.

No problems with IE however.

Hey Stare, I use Firefox and haven't had that problem.  Which version are you running?

I had the same problem too...  I ended up having to boot into Windows (~shudder~) and use IE.

What version of firefox are you using?  Did you do the last update to 1.0.4?  I noticed that my problems didn't start until I ran the last auto-update, but it only updated my extensions, so maybe it's a bad extension?  Which extensions are you using?

I got it to work, finally, by clearing my cache, history, and cookies, and restarting firefox.  It was kind of a pain, since I never close out firefox, I just leave it running on desktop 3 (my "internet" desktop) and switch to other desktops when I don't need it.  Plus, with my long list of extensions, firefox takes a looooong time to load (almost 30 seconds, which seems a lot longer when you're actually waiting).  Try this, and if it doesn't work let me know...

Hey guys, I'm running 1.5, or whatever the newer version is.  Have you thought about upgrading?  Maybe that's why I'm not having any of the same problems you two are.

The forum looks to be a bit buggy with logging in... unfortunately I didn't build it so there isn't much I can do but I'll see if I can find a fix somewhere this week.

Clearing your cookies for opacity.us or www.opacity.us and re-logging in should work though.

firefox 1.5 on Linux is still considered unstable, so I haven't upgraded yet.  Besides, there are a number of my favorite extensions that still aren't supported...

OK, it 's definitely the older version of Firefox, 'cause I'm out of town and I haven't updated the version I have on my laptop, and I'm having the same issues you guys are having.  I'm definitely switching it to the newer version, cause this is frustrating!

Mine seems to be working fine now, just had to clear the cache and cookies, which needed to be done anyway...  It was good, because it gave me a chance to stop some of my extensions from abusing the site's bandwidth, so Motts you might notice a slight decrease in activity (I hope)...

Well, I upgraded right after I posted that last rant, and it seemed to take care of the issues.  Then there was the glitch that made Motts shut us down for a bit.....that was a bummer.

Hey Steve, try 1.5.  Much more fun, and I swear it's faster!  (and you don't get all those 404's we've been bitching about).

(edited for arbitrary misspellings, I'm not quite awake yet)

Yes, I got it. Funny that whenever I checked for updates with that older version, it always said there weren't any???

It has been happening with the last two versions of Firefox.  Never had a problem until then.  This is also the only PHPBBs board I have problems with.

I will look at my cookies again later, but still can't log on with FireFox, I click 'log in' put in my password, and it will go back to the main board, without logging me in.

I finally opened up IE now because I miss the forums so much.  I am going to be upgrading to the IE Beta since I have had problems with FireFox anyway-but with my job I either have 10 windows open or one tabbed browser.

Wish me luck!
