Wow Motts! That first shot is unbelievable! Actually all of them are. You should have taken a shot of the roof of the car :)

Man that first one keeps bringing me back to it...its almost haunting.

What was made at the Fisher Body Plant?
jjc
It was part of body assembly plant; they produced bodies for Buick and Cadillac until 1974. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisher_Body

the Michigan Central Station is enormous !!! Do you know what they plan on doing with this building? Hopefully rehab. and not tear it down.

Good stuff, the first one came out quite nicely. I bet it was cold as hell when you shot these.

Great shots, as usual. Looks like WALLPAPER to me

I love Detroit's Central Station. What's happened to that city is so fricken depressing, but has opened the doors to some very cool urban farms and communities. But still, seeing that many abandoned buildings is really insane. It's like visiting the city in '12 Monkeys'.

I agree with arntzville, looks like some wallpapers are in order. Especially the first one.

@Fla. Gator : The station is in a state of flux right now. the cit is so depressed, that saving it more than likely won't be an option. The city council passed a resolution to tear it down, but that is being challenged in court. The Wikipedia page tells a bit more about it, and here is a good link from NPR: http://www.npr.org/blo.../2009/06/trains.html

even a minimal cleanup with a price for admission might buy some time for the poor terminal. i hate to see beautiful old places once packed with life, left for vandals. Nice shots Mott's i am an expatriate of flint.

Rob from Detroit. thanks for the link. I hope the city counsil dosen't have it torn down. I know the cost to rehab it would be astronomical though.

The image of Central Station is absolutly fantastic~!

That last image is just stunning. The way the whole world seems to be leaning back is just amazing. I am in awe of your photographic prowess.

Stunning photography, Motts. What can I say about you that hasn't already been said? Maybe that seeing your amazing work makes me happier than a redneck in Walmart?

No?

Okay, well, you know how I feel about your photos. If I won the lottery, I'd buy huge prints of all my favorite Opacity shots to decorate my house with, and I'd fund your urban ex trips for the next ten years exclusively. Now back to the pictures...

it's not difficult to get inside the train station. email me if you want more info, art_attack3@yahoo.com
