I'll bet this was one of the Fireboats at the S.I. Ferry Terminal fire in 1946. What a way to end your days.

Yes, truly sad in a way. Guess it makes me think about how old i'm getting too. But the memories of those old ferries are still vivid to me.

Makes me wonder. Is this an old Staten Island Ferry, and if so, is it one I might have been on as a kid 60 years ago ?
