Crate

It makes you wonder what was in it.

Hydrotherapy Hallway

reddll

It makes me feel sorry for the poor saps who carted these out into the hallway only to have them left behind anyway.

It's almost like you are out in the woods and came across this scene.

Gleam

Is there a hole in the ground there in the doorway?

Geister

reddll

It almost looks like someone has been cleaning up somewhat in this room, maybe a fan of the carpet? The pattern reminds me of the ocean during a storm. It gives the room movement. I actually have similar widow shelf boxes in my living room! That modern light fixture/UFO/soap dispenser looks out of place with the more Victorian decor.

Blue Doors

reddll

My old bedroom was painted this wonderful shade of blue. It is a cheerful and comforting color. A good choice for a hospital.

It looks like maybe you buzzed your way into that room? See the little boxes by the doors? Maybe?

Chamber of Mold

This room evokes many different thoughts and emotions. What a great shot! I captures all the beauty and deparavity that is this room. It also captures a sense of sadness at it's decline.

Strung Out

reddll

How long has this place actually been abandoned? It appears much worse for wear. Maybe that awful English weather has beaten it down. This shot is an excellent reminder of Mother Nature's power.

Ceiling Decor

And to think, many people that patronized the theater in its better days probably didn't even notice these beautiful details.

Power Plant

Shouldn't there be a large blow up pig flying by here about now?

Building 93

reddll

It looks like the dayroom on the second "step" is throwing up.

Why would you take an 8 yr. old into a dangerous place like this? 8 yr. olds can't always determine things like "that floor looks rotted" or "that ceiling looks unsafe".

The Frame

Right out of "Edward Scissorhands" except this place is actually real!

Building 123

I can imagine a little bistro set all laid out for tea sitting there on the path.

Silent Playground

reddll

It reminds me of "after the bomb" photos. And a particular episode of the original Star Trek TV show.

Window

reddll

What a formidably memorable window! This would make a nice garden item. I wonder if any of these places sell salvage before they are torn down.

Castle Painting

I think that this is symbolic of "Slipping off into LaLa Land".

My mother used to say "You're off in LaLa Land" when I wasn't paying attention.

Manhole

And poor me, lost the effect to tired eyes! I couldn't tell what it was a picture of right away!

Multicolored Hall

This picture makes the door at the end look so big and hulking, almost intimidating.

Scenic Wallpaper

reddll

I think it would have been a beautiful change from that awful green color! You could imagine that you are out there instead of stuck in the hospital.

The look like dressing rooms at the department store!

Thanks for the unexpected laugh Chippy! Motts' tripod must have suffered a similar fate!

What a nice patio!

You should have titled this one "The decaying of the Arts".

Forgotten Plant

reddll

It was likely already dead when they vacated the building. It probably was one of those plants that cascaded downwards over the edges of the pot.

Green Luminescence

reddll

This picture makes me sick to my stomach. It is a very disconcerting color of green.
