It must be openwork of some sort, everything on the walls has already come off.

It really was a pretty grand place! It is strange to see the before and after shots. It makes the decay seem all the more worse!

This must be the great hall. Look at that monster of a fireplace! This place must have been impressive at one time!

Well, it certainly does leave you with a disconcerted feeling, doesn't it?

What an impressive piece of work! Are you standing on the pyramid 'o' tables for this shot?

What a great room! It is like a fairy tale ballroom. I wonder if there was a "High Hills Gate"? Shreaded papers are always a bit suspicious. Think "fund raising dinners".

In reference to the power plant, much like the coal mines and such some of the workers probably got filthy enough to need to bath before going home.

What a wonderful "face" this building has! The jutting out object is the nose, then the moustache below, the door way the mouth, and the laughing eyes above.

This photo almost has a jolly feeling.

I worked for two companies that went under and left behind a bunch of empty buildings, Hills and Ames. We have also had FoodTown go under, Cubs, Farmer Jack's, etc.. All leaving hideous abandoned "box" stores behind. The Wal-Mart here has actually helped the "Mom and Pop" stores by attracting more people into the area surrounding the store. Of course here they knocked down an old hideous, abandoned "box" store to build it.

Enough of that.

The building in this photo appears to be waiting. You would think it enjoyed having people pick around inside it! This was an awesome angle to take this shot from.

Maybe the fire crews needed to get into here and it was locked? It is a rather slender door, which might have hindered conventional means of entry.

This chair doesn't seem to mind being lonely. It also looks very well made and sturdy.

This reminds me of one of those pinball games where you put the different pieces together and then watch the marbles fall down it. Although it is a lot creepier then the kids game.

OOOOO, shivers down my spine! I don't know what it is about this shot, it is very creepy indeed.

How beautiful! What brilliance! I can imagine that these pictures were calming to the persons that worshipped here. They have a calming effect on me.

Artistic masterpieces, even if part is missing.

I am impressed that this place was so multi-media enriched. It seems like they actually cared about the children's education here.

What a great shot. You see those pine trees "peeking" in?

I think that this is actually where the chalkboard used to be. See the weird linear and cross patterns amongst the graffeti? That is the glue where it was stuck to the wall.

Remember all those pillow fights as a child? Maybe still as an adult?
