pegasus64I know plant racks look like that..maybe since they were a city unto themselves for awhile, they used it for a greenhouse. I am thinking the rug was original to the room and the rack was stored there later.

pegasus64Actually, it looks like a "hopper" where soiled textiles are rinsed out. The solids can be flushed away after the item is rinsed.

pegasus64Tile is part way up because that is where the hand, foot, face prints would end up. It was more expensive to install, but easier to clean.

And the nice thing about these comments is that if you don't like them, you don't have to read them. There are many comments I have skipped for whatever reason.
