BTW, Lynne, I enjoy reading your explanations of things on this site. They shed a little light on these "dark" places, I think...:-)...

....hmmm. Yep, you're probably right. But what about feathers or down?.....cotton batting?....torn (clean) strips of rags?, SOMETHING besides HAIR.?..OK, I'm trying...:-)....I don't know. It just seems....yucky to sleep on a hair-filled pillow...:-p...(shudder)...

DANG!!!...a shot that makes me suddenly overly curious about what's through all those doorways you can't physically GET to anymore...I can hardly stand the fact that those secrets (and shots) will remain hidden forever. Oh to be able to fly (no weight on the floors), and explore this whole place. I have to echo another's comment, and say "one of my hundreds of favorites".....;-)

OK, dumb question, but WHY WHY WHY would a pillow be stuffed with HAIR?....why not just regular....I don't know, PILLOW stuffing?...Would it be human hair? That's just a little macabre to think about....maybe it's horse hair, like they used to stuff couches with. If it's human, that's just WRONG!!...:-0

Yet another great one. Imagine how much it would cost to build buildings with detail like this today. Oh well. As long as they don't build 60's and 70's style, anymore....:-p

Wow. I'd love to have the front of my house look like this. Certainly not the "cookie-cutter" house..:-). Great shot, and perfect color.

fc. OK, enufffff....(sp?) ;-). Hmm. I don't believe you can see thru your comp scrn either, so pls don't assume everyone should just KNOW your situation. I certainly didn't mean to "offend" you (as ppl seem to be so dreadfully afraid of doing these days....). Guess I "think" I'm just a reg. person who can laugh at myself, too (crow cmnt?),...Just thought your orig. (and now last) post was rather.....(hands thrown in the air..)....you know, nvmd. Done with subject. ..Wonderful typing with you, tho... ( ;-)). Others...pls excz my lack of etiquette"...I'll behave...(runs and faces corner..)..:-)...sticking to pic comments fno.

Sorry for the 2nd post. The "red guy" seems to be easier to see if you actually look at him from the right side of the screen (doesn't make sense, but....)...His "shirt" is long-sleeved and white, and his "belt" is the faint, short line that runs parallell to where the back of the "sleeve "would be. Any easier? (leaving so as not to hog the board.....:-)).

J-131274--Actually, I'm NOT Motts...(just "NVUS" (envious) of his adventures in these places... ;-)...)...Oh, BTW...I'm afraid I must eat a tiny, lower-case "d"- sized bite of crow...after my correction above, regarding "rhetoric"...I realized I'd left out a "d" in my OWN word, "reddish".....>:-0.....(eating tiny, smelly toothpick-full and slinking into the corner)...but then again, I read FC's post a second time, and, well.....the whole post "spells" for itself.....Oh, well, 'nuf said. Sorry so long....Hi to all, anyway....:-). More great shots, Motts!...:-)

FC... Huh?....OK....I wasn't really making a social commentary, here... just noticed something odd that caught my eye....................J-131274.....weird, huh?...Probably just faded remains of old graffiti, but, to use a cliche, you never know......:-).

Does anyone else see the VERY faint, redish outline of a hunched-over man in the clean area, toward the ceiling? His "eyes" are just below the faint horizontal line towards the top. He looks like he's looking down at you, with his right side toward you, right arm straight down in front, like a football player getting ready to hike the ball....just found that a little creepy, and now I can't NOT see it.....hmmm. Anyone else?

Hi. New to this site, and LOVE IT :-). I confess to asking this same question about the "stains of insanity" pic above, but the last post on this one was more recent, and also dealt with color. Does anyone know why these places only painted or tiled the bottom 3/4 of the walls, leaving the top white? Seems to be that way throughout the site...thanks.

Hi, all. Just found this site a while ago, and, sickly, I LOVE IT. I've always been fascinated by old abandoned buildings, and admit I've been on here for hours over the past month or so. ? for ya. Does anyone know why they only painted (or tiled) the bottom 3/4 or so of the walls in these places and left the rest white? For the most part, it seems to be the case. .l
