Green on Red

Great combination of colors and textures here.

Diffused

nvusofmotts

Vaguely reminds me of the cover of an old Pink Floyd album (am I dating myself?). Division Bell, I think......

Smoothed

Nice idea for composition :-).

Underneath

VERY cool, if that writing is original...

Block

nvusofmotts

Now that's ominous. Nice in B&W, too :-). My mind always insists on supplying a soundtrack to these.....

Ultrawide

OK, Motts, fisheye lens or really the way it was? I'm guessing fisheye with the distortion of the bricks.....but maybe not.....

Confinement

nvusofmotts

I think I'd like this kind best. Not big enough for a hand or arm to come through. Medievel looking.

Trap Door

nvusofmotts

That is the kind of thing that shows up in my (thankfully rare) nightmares. A certain Stephen King story comes to mind....

Yellow-Green

nvusofmotts

Almost looks like church doors.

X

No comment necessary on this one. If this was actually left by a prisoner, and not put on later, that's quite a find.

Rotting Away

nvusofmotts

OK, I can't sleep, so I'm on here.... Thanks for another gallery, Motts :-). I like the converging lines throughout this one, both the lines of the floor meeting the walls, and the brick lines, combined with the angle of the shot. No toilet. Wow. I hope they were at least allowed out for that whenever necessary :-0.

JoniG' Thanks. Had that word buried in the back of my mind somewhere, and just couldn't dig it up. Now it won't bug me anymore :-).

...hmmmmm. Does anyone know a ("the"?) word for the phenomenon of "involuntarily seeing 'faces' in objects" like clouds, popcorn ceilings, etc...? Seems like there's a word for that. Seems like a lot of people see the same thing (or maybe it's just me, and I'm weird, which is very possible.....of course, I do have an art degree, so maybe my MIND just works that way.......) Any ideas?

Lol....the top one DOES look "surprised". Nice "topknot" hairdos, also, I might add :-).

Ouibliette with a ladder..... That shot is truly creepy. Another one out of a nightmare. At least there's not 20 feet of black, inky water at the bottom....:-0

Caverns Up High

nvusofmotts

Great one! Looks like the dirt floor on the left might fall into the black abyss below. Don't know if I'd walk there.

Really like this :-)

Flooded

nvusofmotts

Noooooo!!.....(moaning in a state of "creeped-out-ness" at the dark water that shouldn't be there)..... Like the composition, though, and the spot of green in the middle sets it off well.

Nicely balanced :-).

Flotsam

nvusofmotts

......agghhhh. I can hardly LOOK at these "creepy underwater" shots... Great shades of green, though. The reflections are a nice effect, too.

Danger Lurks Under the Surface

nvusofmotts

Zara, I agree. Something about things underwater that SHOULDN'T be is just WRONG, especially when you can't see down into the water. Interesting that this is so clear. Deep, dark, abandoned pools, or any kind of water are always beyond creepy. Nice shot.

The Canal Beneath

nvusofmotts

(SHUDDER!!!!!!)...OH!!, that gives me the crawling CREEPS!!! At least it's light in there.

Tinted Blue

Nice contrast of colors.
