With an open woodwork, traditional, or wrought-iron rail instead of the solid one, this would look nice in a house.

DANG!!!!!!! I spoke too soon about the Baker-Miller !!!!...lol. Again with the community tubs, though......(frowns)..hope there were screens or curtains, at least.

Wow. Can you imagine being one of the little kids being brought up to the front of THIS???? Scary.

Oh!!! Just looked again. Are the stairs ANGLED, or is it just shaddow????? If so, that just upped the "coolness factor" of this :-).

That IS a rather bizarre set of stairs. Wonder why the floor it leads to is only "half-high". Then again, I've seen houses built on the sides of slopes or steep hills that have stairs like that because there's no other way to do it. Hmmm. I like the change from the ordinary, though. Sort of reminds me of the "stairway to the window" shot in the wierd pink bathroom in another gallery....(?).

Shade

If you didn't know this was a hospital, a few cafe tables and waiters in white aprons serving breakfast would fit right in, here :-). Love how the shadows on the porch floor seem to be "mirrored" by the vines growing across the ceiling, and I like the choice of B&W over color on this one. Nice shot.

Black Landscape

Maybe not in black, but I'd certainly hire the person who did this to do something on my living room wall :-).

"Intercontinental ballistic missles". What an ominous phrase (still, even in this age).

Caught

nvusofmotts

This one grabs you and makes you look for a while (of course, so many of your shots do, Motts :-)). Maybe it's my Fine-Arts-Degree-Brain talking on this one, but this picture has so much going on (obviously), behind the actual subject matter. Speaking as a person who's enjoyed this site for over two years now, this particular image may be my new favorite of all. Metaphorical, literal, thought-provoking, and just plainly a great shot. This is one of the shiniest gems in the treasure trove of great images in your galleries. If you ever DO do a coffee table book, this one, in my humble opinion, would be a great cover to sum up the "character" of so many of the stories behind the locations photographed for this site. Sorry for the length. Thanks for allowing me the space to express this. Excellent shot.

Foyer

Geez.. Very few of the places you go would creep me out, but this particular room, lit this way, does. I'd be expecting one of those creatures that can only be seen in your peripheral vision, and disappears the split-second you try to look right at it. I would NOT be alone in this room.

Hole

Love the colors. These are some of my favorite shots. OK, I know other people say this all the time, but this reminds me so much of a dream I often have of a stairway that goes down and down and down, and never stops..... Stephen King wrote a story (I think it was him), about a parking garage that went down, down, down, and kept geting older and more squeezed in....anyone know the name of it?

Half Wall

nvusofmotts

Hmmmm. That's strange, unless it was structural, but then, why wouldn't it be finished like the other walls, and also, it's in a strange spot to be structural. Things that make you go "Hmmmmm"

Flowing

nvusofmotts

LOVE this!!! Great perspective and framing. For those who don't "see" it, I think Motts is standing on a landing or steps between two flights in a stairwell, shooting at the level just above, and the part that looks like duct work on the right is the underside of the next flight. Sorry if I'm wrong, Motts ;-o. Not presuming just a guess.

Porcelain

nvusofmotts

Hmmm. Ummm, just NO. Being "relaxed" about certain issues is one thing. Then comes the line that is not to be crossed. Clothing-optional beach? Fine. Even a rare communal shower at the gym (which thankfully, as far as I know, no longer exists), is still (albeit reluctantly) OK. "Individual-stall-optional" bathroom, however? NOT fine! :-0.
